I think Gamestop/Ebgames have shipped preorders seperately in the pasts. I think they shipped the preorder DVD for Metal Gear Solid 3 Substitence a couple of days before the game release. That is why I think they are charging an extra $5 for handling fees. I think this is actually a shipping fee for the preorder. That gamestop removed the offer from the website makes me think they might not have gotten enough of the preorder bonus for all that preordered. If that happens and I don't get mine I will probably cancel my order.

I don't think "ready to ship within 24 hours" is a status they have. Usually ships gives them wiggle room if they can't ship it that fast, you see. Couple that with the fact that this may very well be shipping with the game itself, and...y'know.
Don't worry. I'd assume if your status changed you'll be fine. Though I'd assume that everyone who has the bonus listed has a status change.

well i netted out to around 47 dollars, but that's because i specifically selected 2-day shipping. I'm moving on the 15th so i need to be absolutely sure it gets here by then and in actuality that was cheaper than Gamestop's 2-day in the end.

Also, while their support has no phone and i placed the order before finding out they eventually told me that the items ship from a warehouse in Indiana, meaning that selecting the 2-day shipping was probabably a good idea (as i live in Los Angeles).

The "Shipping Within 24 Hours" thing doesn't mean that it's actually going to ship in 24 hours. I got the same message when I pre ordered the MGS3:S LE set + bonus DVD. It just means that your bonus item is ready to ship as soon as the game comes in.

It will probably come separate (preorder stuff usually comes a couple days/ weeks before it's out. Someone in Canada reported they got theirs last night, so tell your friend give the store a ring and see if he can pick it up. Now, there's a chance they don't have it, but it would be wise to call ASAP cause say his store got 10 preorders and they got 5 bonuses. The 5 bonuses could be first come, first serve.

As for the game, it's either coming the 5th or the 12th. My money's on the 5th (Gamestop's website has changed it a couple times but the 5th still looks like the date)b

The B&M stores aren't doing any sort of marking of your receipt to indicate when you preordered, AFAIK. Two stores here told me that you'll get the bonus when the game comes in, and when I asked about availability, they just said "Well, it's a "while supples last" kind of thing, show up early".

Preorder now, show up early, you'll get your bonus.

They've received no email telling them not to offer the bonus anymore... both stores had no idea the website pulled the offer but said it was still valid in store.

You don't seem to understand. It is ILLEGAL to charge you more money than what you agreed to when initially placing an order. That is called FRAUD. The only way EB can charge you more than the initial order is if they contact you and you agree to the charge.

Most people wouldn't know of any surcharges or price increases to an item after their order is placed, even if it's on the item's page, and therefore would have to be notified.

How are the stores giving these out early? What if you get your bonus, and then decide you don't want the game (not likely, but trying to understand).?
I doubt my local store would give me my bonus before they had the game...am I missing something?

The employee that gave it to me went through the system (asked for my name and telephone number that I preordered the game with) and marked it down that I picked up my bonus. They also told me if I wanted to return the game or cancel the preorder I had to return the bonus unopened.

Not that I have any intention of returning the game. The bonus is just too cool.

Ya I almost ordered in store because games often arrive in such bad condition when bought online....in store I have a hard time getting the preorder bonuses though so I went with online. Hopefully they do ship it alot nicer.

I picked mine up. It comes in a flimsy cardboard box with a plastic "wax" seal that's attached to the box via velcro. The CD is attached to a piece of cardboard. I can take pictures.

The art book is pretty sweet. Lots of nice pictures. I'm not an expect, but it appears to be good quality. The name on the cover is "raised" so it has texture. I didn't check out every page yet, but I see box arts from all the Castlevanias.

What do you say to them? I mentioned something about it to the guy at my GS when I preordered a month ago and he just kinda snapped about how you'll get it when you pick up the game. Still, if they're going to give them out ealry I don't want to miss out because I waited for the release date.

Just got back from GS. I preordered 2 copies with $5 down on each and walked away with 2 SWEET bonus packs.

So they definately are giving them out early. I did call in advance to see if they had extra copies beyond the amount of prexisting preorders, so I'm not sure if this will work at all EB/GS. For all South Jersey CAGs, there is one left at the Echelon Mall GS.

I doubt I will even pick up the games there. Just cancel the preorders a week or so down the line when they have forgotten about the bonuses. I have no desire to pay the extra $5 (or $10 since I'll end up using the GGC at BB).

Alright, I went out to Ebgames and preordered it in stores because they got two extra bonus' and I cancelled by Gamestop online preorder so I don't have to pay the $5 surcharge.

So there is good news and bad news. The good news is that the bonus is awesome. The bad news is the box it comes in is flimsy and can get crushed easily. I'm glad I am on first name basis with the manager at my EBgames because he had no problem going back and getting me a preorder bonus that didn't get crush in transit. I have hope that the $5 extra handling charge goes to shipping it in a box/durable container because if this just ships in a bubble bag it's going to get crushed. I'm inclined to say that GBA boxes are sturdier than this preorder box.

My EB has them in, but they aren't handing them out until Tuesday with the game. The manager opened one up to look at with me and it looked pretty good. The game case holds two games, but the rest looked good at a glance.

PIcked up mine tonight. It's definately nice enough. I was hoping for a sturdier box. Coolest thing about the CD (that I'm probably the only person that cares about) is that it has CD Text on it. It's the only CD that I haven't had to make a burn of myself that has it. I was so shocked to see the track titles on my CD player in my car.

Cancel you Konami order once you obtained it in store, thats what I did with my gamestop order. Saved me shipping charges.

My Gamestop solved the issue by just writing on my reciept that I had picked up the Pre-Order bonus.

I don't have a DS lite but I wish I did just for this cool ass stylus. Art Book is pretty neat although I'd love to have a Street Figthter Eternal Challenge style book instead. The cd kicks all sorts of ass. Lots more music on there than I expected. Oh and the DS game case rocks too. Very classy.

Overall, the best pre-order bonus I've seen ever. Beats, t-shirts, poster, single art books, dvds, etc. Very well done Konami.
