This Power ToolBar pop up blocker ( I forget the name ) that claims to stop pop ups. In truth this is a virus they caught from downloading fansub videos directly of a webpage or something else.

I got rid of it by going into the registry and then deleting odd dlls from the system.

The problem is that now when Explorer loads it sits around for six seconds then loads the page. Instead of loading Google it is unable to connect to the web.

The problem does not end there. I tried to start a online game and the game would not go online.

I think I might have deleted something from the system folder or the virus might still be active. I say the system and not the registery since the page laoded after I deleted stuff from the registery.

Doing things like this manually is usually not the first step. It's very possible you might have deleted a necessary DLL from your system. Try the usual spyware programs, including CWShredder, Spybot Search and Destroy, ewido and AdAware. Also try an antivirus, there are some that will scan free from the web. Obviously you have web access in some way since you're posting on CAG. Your last resort is to reformat.

Once things are running well switch to a different browser like Opera or Firefox. They aren't targeted by spyware programs as much so you'll run into less problems.

Okay this is not my computer. I tried using repair and nothing while I prefer not to use any virus scanning programs. I will try to reinstall after 7-zipping all the important files.
