i was browsing around trying to find this box set because i know it's ALREADY OOP (out of print) and it JUST came out today...and i luckily stumbled onto bestbuy.com and found it was on sale. I'm not sure if this is in-store as well but i sure as hell went and bought this because it ain't gonna be around for much longer. This is even CHEAPER than DDD's got it listed for...so i'd jump on this now if i were you, before it is gone for good.
heres the link: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7960021&st=trinity+blood&lp=1&type=product&cp=1&id=1546724

None around me have it, and the difference is only $.35 between best buy and DDD. I'd spend more then $.35 just driving to a BB to get it assuming I even wanted it

Yes, thank you. But to be fair, Trigun and Hellsing (mostly the second half of Hellsing) were also quite lame...
Anyhow, what's wrong with Trinity Blood, you ask? It's packed full of anime cliches, and manages to do nothing well enough to warrant a viewing. Religious order out to destroy evil? Check. Vampire with a heart of gold that fights other, evil vampires? Check. Yawnfest.

I gotta agree, Trinity Blood was just aweful, I watched up to about episode 11 before I gave up on it. If you want Vampires, maybe youd like "Black Blood Brothers" (but I cant stand this one so far either.. lol) D.Gray-Man all the way !!!

see i think that TRIGUN was absolutely incredible...it's one of the best animes i've ever seen! just the character development, the drama, the action, the comedy, the OPENING SONG (my ALL TIME favorite), the entire soundtrack...and the ENDING which is amazing as well...im not sure what there ISN'T to like about trigun...so maybe that's why our tastes differ...
though i semi liked the end of hellsing...but seeing OAV 1 of Ultimate Hellsing has completely offset my views on the original series.
Oh and keep in mind...i don't read manga which EVERYONE says is better than anime :-#

I wouldnt pay money for this but i've seen worse anime. Its a nice warmup before bleach starts. I'll just tivo all the episodes in case I ever want to watch it again.

Maybe it's the fact that Vash is a complete pussy. He absolutely never takes action and it gets annoying. I know that the show's not necessarily about action and violence the whole time, but Vash's "no kill" policy got ridiculous after a while. I'm still convinced that the only show that does the "I don't want to kill people" thing well is Rurouni Kenshin.
God... Trigun was fucking terrible.

I loved Trinity Blood. I'm going to pick this up. I've had this cool poster of Trinity Blood that was for the novel series before the anime even came out. It's too bad that the creator didn't get to complete his work.

ok dude we are totally the opposite in our opinions of anime. I look at animes with a more open mind than you do it seems...i find it much more original than all other animes that Vash was NOT a killer...he believed that no one ever had to die...and i think you were grossly overwhelmed when your expectation (which is dumb as hell to have in the first place) was not met...you probably expected him to go ape shit in the end and start being violent...or maybe something else but nonetheless i loved trigun for it's concept and its separation from most other animes...to each their own 8-)

Everytime you say animeS, I'm going to hit the ignore button on your account, and urge other people to do the same.
Currently watching it on cartoon network, wasnt too impress.

I love Trigun and Hellsing wasn't as bad as all these crazy Otaku holier-than-thou types make it out to be. And so far of what I have seen of Trinity Blood makes it seem like a very enjoyable show. I'll probably pick this up if I see it in store some time.

The first Hellsing series fell apart towards the end. The new Hellsing OVA kicks much ass though as it follows the manga pretty well and the animation quality is top notch. I've only see a few episodes of Trinity Blood and it seems alright. The artwork is not as great as the THORES Trinity Blood artbook. The R1 boxset looks interesting but still is no match to the R2 LEs.

I just thought that Vash's response to every situation in the show was annoying. I'm pretty open minded with anime and I don't mind shows where there's no killing. Trigun could have executed it far better though IMO.
By the way, I'm obligated to recommend Berserk in every thread where anime is discussed... so here it is: Go buy Berserk.

Berserk is a great series. The only problem with it is that they need to make a second season of it! If you're going to get into berserk, I suggest reading the manga as the manga continues where as the anime just ends.

Yeah, I normally don't care about manga, but damn... the manga for Berserk is really, really entertaining. Truly a fantastic storyline.

oh and what do the R2's look like?
and yes berserk is an amazing series despite the ending...but i very much DOUBT they will have another season....i'd rather they not actually...cuz it might just turn out to be horrible :(
Just a heads up. This LE box is already OOP. It's sold out at the distribution level. If your order is backordered, chances are you won't get it. Go find it at a B&M!

Anyone still looking for Trinity Blood that lives in MA - they have two of the LE box sets, marked 29.99 (but might/hopefully ring up less) at the Cambridgeside Galleria Best Buy.
