Collecting is so rediculious. What is the point of paying that much money for that? I just can't understand it.

i guess because they were alot fewer competion editions. I remeber playing in that competition at BB. I did pretty good at DKC

That's whats keeping me from owning Mega Man X2 and X3 ($50-$100) :(
Of course, there are ROMs...

A few years ago a chain of stores in my area cleared out their Super Nintendo games. X2, X3, Harvest Moon, Super Metroid, Evo - all $8 each.

Wow, I had no idea Mega Man X2 & X3 were fetching so much. I bought both for $2 each nearly two years ago.

The price definately is a bit much, but due to the rarity of the item I would guess the 150 he states in the auction details is about what the set price should be. Though, collecting video games is like any other collectible... how many people remember people paying hundreds upon hundreds of bucks for a) Cabbage Patch Kids b) Star Wars figures (can't blame them for this one c) Furby's and d) Beanie Babies? :-D

But, unlike those other collectibles, video games have not had their market crashed like the rest of those items, Beanie Babies aren't worth crap anymore and all those people that paid hundreds of dollars for pieces of fabric with beads in them made in sweat shops must feel like real douche bags.

i got x2 as a birthday gift in '96 from funcoland for 55 dollars, it was used but had all inserts for 55 dollars.

It was worth it to me, I really like the game.

This cartridge is actually worth something near what it sold for... even though it's not even a game... rather, it's just a few levels from DKC set against a timer -- you have to collect as many bananas as possible before the time runs out.

As a -game-, it's nearly worthless. However, it is incredibly rare and weird, and some of us want those kinds of things for our collections. I'd never pay that much for one, but I can understand how someone might. I once bought two 2600 prototype carts at a thrift store for 25 cents each... sold them on eBay for $125 each.

then never mind, that changes everythig i ment with my post. i was under the assumption it was just the normal game, because the auction poster mentioned nothing about this
