how much Mac do I need?

I'm not looking to "switch" to mac but I'm looking to add a mac. I've been a pc guy since the early 90's and would like a mac for everyday things like internet, word processing and time management. I'm looking at some refurbed ibooks for well under $500. What can I get away with buying for my budget? Remember, no gaming.

according to McDonald, you would want a "Big" Mac (maybe 2).

Well, if you want a desktop machine, go for a Mac mini. They're newer and will hook up to your existing peripherals. If you want a laptop it might be hard to find a deal for under $500 but check out http://www.smalldog.com/
