It's like ten minutes, I'd say it's pretty much worth watching. It's basically a broad overview of what we already know, but it's another good take on the entire package. Pretty cool for the NYC people that Reggie will be selling the first units at what sounds like the Nintendo World Store.

Reggie sounds different when he's not projecting in front of a crowd.

He said "our games are not HD" but he's basically referring to the above-480p levels when he says that, right? (I suppose the component cables not being included also fits into this philosophy.) I think it's already been confirmed that 16:9 480p will be supported...correct?

He looks a little different, and less funny, when he's not constantly looking at the ground or refusing to shake the hands of others.

That was a pretty interesting interview. Reggie really seems like the most interesting rep for a console manufacturer so it's always pretty interesting to hear him talk about the Wii. And every time I watch one of these bits of Wii propaganda, I want the system more. This system is definitely going to have the best launch of the three.

yeah, I will say Reggie tops them all in terms of being the most enjoyable and convincing, with sony in second, and xbox last (I can't stand listening to guys who look too old to understand gaming).

I bet VH1 is pissed they lost Reggie :)

Definitely nothing we don't already know, but it was still a nice watch.

The interviewer is pathetic.

Perhaps, but he also represents one of the demographics Nintendo is trying to reach out to with the Wii: Baby Boomers who previously had little knowledge or interest in video games. As Reggie described how playing tennis involved swinging the controller like a racquet, etc., you could tell the point was hitting home. Everyone, regardless of their past experience, can understand the analogous nature of that kind of control.

Can't believe the guy cited the Power Glove, though. He ran the risk of Reggie jacking him up by his collar there.

"Oh, you just had to go there. Say Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, little piggy!!! What's my name, bitch?!?! WHAT'S MY NAME?!?"

I can totally believe he brought up the power glove its the only device thats really come close to what their trying to do with the Wiimote in the first place. I'd also agree that the interviewer was a poor choice. It was obvious that the guy had little to no experience in gaming at all in any format but perhaps thats what nintendo wanted because during parts of that interview you could see the interviewer himself get interested especially when he explained how the controller works. Dunno it definatly will be interesting to see I know I'm certainly looking forward to the christmas season this year.

Yeah, I think the interviewer was just... a random middle-aged reporter working for ABC. I doubt most of the people in that population are gamers, and they're going for a story on the appeal of the Wii, not its technical specs or how the next iteration of Metroid Prime is going to wow the consumer. If they had someone who was more versed in the gaming world, chances are the terminology in the interview would have gone over the heads of most people.

Nice salesman tactic to not even mention the names of your competitors. No point in even offering name recognition to your audience.

Who is that person in the blue shirt behind Reggie that you can see between minutes 2-3?

My guess - his body guard to protect him from Hit attempts via Sony and MS.

It's interesting how he drifts in and out of more game-industry and market specfic terms ("uber", and "Madden" as shorthand for the game itself), and then broader, higher level terminology for people that don't know anything about games, yet still presents everything in way that only gamers can really relate to. A very calculated press release to be sure...

I found it so funny and nerdy when he said "uber"...I mean who the heck says that when they speak haha

Reggie did okay, but I'm used to my video game pundits nodding their head more and keeping their mouth open.

The interviewer was simply outrageous in his lack of knowledge, information, and preperation for the interview. It does get accross to the mass consumer though. As others have mentioned, it was very well handled by Reggie, but I don't feel that the interview setting truly benifits him or his persona. He's an energy driving, frenzy creating machine. He needs a stage or some way to really get you pumped up or hyped about something. He does well in the PR department by not once using the names of his competitors. Makes it almost seem as though he is making Nintendo in a league of their own. Still, he speaks well and is always an interesting character.

Could they have chosen a bigger tool to do the interview. I didn't expect Charles Gibson, but at least have someone who is interested.

Great interview. Reggie is a perfect spokesman because hardcore gamers can relate to him the way he speaks (ie. taking names and kicking ass, uber games, etc.) and yet when he speaks in a more "serious" interview to a broad grown-up audience like ABC News, he communicates articulately like a high-end CEO.

Anyone else find "chemistry" between Reggie and the interviewer? I'm sorry but I felt the interviewer had the "hots" for Reggie and wanted to jump his bones.

I found an uber lack of chemistry...cause thats just gay and twisted
