hum.....
interesting.
I think you're right and that this is a reprint.
$50 shipped is an awesome price.
Too bad I have already have this game.
Where is my reprint of DDS1?
:-)

edit:
not sure if this is indeed a reprint since the item can't be added to the cart as others have pointed out

it says new is unavailable...how good is eb games/gamestop at giving you the manual and case for used copies?

Thanks

Since they take in games all the time without needing a case of manual then I would say it is 50/50 you will get a complete set. I would say getting a case and manual for this game would be very unlikely through EB/GS since anyone with a complete set would be much better selling it on EBay then trading it in.

Wowow, a reprint? Well, there goes my copy's value, lol. That's cool though. I'm glad Atlus is doing reprints. ^^

how good is this game?

It's very good. A very difficult dungeon crawler.

I have been checking gamestop.com daily for a used copy in my area. And yesterday "nocturne" wasn't even on the site. So now it comes back up but for sale new..... sorry it's a mistake, they didn't have any copies. If it was a reprint atlus would have them and they dont. I think the game might get a reprint but that will happen when devil summoner comes out.

Awesome, awesome game.

Deal does not exist. Please move to graveyard.

Hopefully Atlus never reprints SMT:N and my copy with the soundtrack keeps its value :)

I never got around to playing DDS1 or DDS2 but own both of them sealed. It would be nice if there isn't a reprint, but who knows nowadays.

I thought this was old news, I actually picked up a used copy on Monday because they showed up on the site, the first copy was case and game only, but I went to another one on Tuesday and was able to get the complete package plus Digital Devil Saga with the collector's box as well. So I returned the box and game only copy of Nocturne.

One of the greatest games ever made.

There should be a reprint - it's an experience capable of changing the way you look at games.

Nocturne has probably the best optional dungeon i've ever played (or maybe the Ancient Dungeon in Lufia 2). Not the deepest characters you've ever seen, but the overall theme more than makes up for it...and it's H A R D. Main character dies at any time, game over. I totally recommend it.

if it all of sudden popped up new at gamestop that pretty much means it's a game quest direct reprint, they have some weird deal with gamestop/eb. even with a reprint, this game will be hard as fuck to find.

good game... hard as fuck. but then again, im not that great at having patience with rpgs.

I thought it was pretty easy up until a certain boss... and I was a stain on the ground in a flash. But 7 hours in and I am having a good time with it. I don't know if I will play DDS after this or do Dragon Quest VIII...

Yup. After I leveled up a bit, I was able to get by him but dang, it has me scared of how much harder the next big thing is going to be...

It says that my local EB has 1-3 in stock. Could that be a bogus number? They don't even have some uncommon games like Suikoden III and ZOE2. I guess all I can do is call.

GeorgeCostanza
09-30-2006, 12:29 PM
1-3 means that they probably have one used copy. I have two stores local that have it but after calling both, I fouind out that the both have no case or manual. Its gotta be complete and pretty good shape to drop 45 on a used game. Plus I still think it will be reissued soon.

That was easily the hardest boss in the game. Really. Just because you start out getting your ass kicked and you have no idea how to survive. Now that you figured that battle out, getting through the rest of the bosses isn't anywhere near as difficult.

Digital Devil Saga 1 is instock Used on Ebgames.com for $39.99. I'm not sure if that's a great price for a potentially Disc only game. Any suggestions?

Great price probably, but considering EB and GameStop have low standard when it comes to trade-ins, i'd see if i could find it at a local EB/GameStop instead.

Yeah, but I can't. The closest I've come to a DDS is DDS 2 New for $30-ish.
I'll sleep on it.

I guess worse case is buy it, and when it arrives, send it back if its not complete. You can do that i believe...as long as the game isnt opened. That, or say you thought you bought DDS2, and upon realizing it wasnt 2, you bought a copy online...

I thought you could return them locally? Maybe that was just that store when I was talking to the guy about ordering and getting screwed online.

I was in a few EB/Gamestops this weekend and I saw several copies of Nocturne. It's the same thing that happened with Rez and Gitaroo Man... suddenly all their stores have mint-looking "used" copies of a once-rare game. I don't know if they're reprints or what. :???:

used copy is back in stock at gamestop.they should really fixed that error for stating new games in stock, but when you check out it leaves to a error.same thing applies to godzilla, hack outbreak and many other rare games.

it would be really nice if used wild arms alter f is for free.i kinda doubt it.It's probably a error in website computor adjusting to new change than centeral computer.

So if SMT: Nocturne has been reprinted, then who is selling the new, sealed copies? Not EB/Gamestop, not Atlus.com, and not Gamequestdirect. WHO?!?!?!

No one is. The thread starter mistakenly assumed that Gamestop.com had new copies because of a website error, but no one has been able to get new copies. The OP needs to change the thread title...

Then I'd like to know why several EB/Gamestops around where I live suddenly have pristine "used" copies in stock, when I had never seen it before at any of the stores.

If it was truly a reprint, why would they bother to open them and sell them as used? Last time I checked, Gamestop doesn't like to throw away money :applause:

Actually, Gamestop has opened reprints of stuff like RE2 and RE3 in the past... I dunno why though.

Actually, they have done that before, with Rez I think. I'm not sure why, but someone, once, had a good reason for it :D. They've also done that with lots of "lesser" games. I remember for a while Echo Night Beyond was sold that way - every copy I saw in several stores still had the plastic security strip on the top, but they were all opened and sold as used. Some sort of bizarre inventory thing.

I'd love to find a new one sold as used - but the store locator shows ZERO copies at the 27 or so EB/GS stores within 40 miles of me .

smt nocturne has been reprinted, just like rez, rhapsody etc., but that was quite some time ago.

in other news - smt nocturne, dds, marvel v. capcom 2, super mario bros (classic), .hack pt 4, and other 'high end' games are no longer even offered on the gs/eb website - even as backorders. ps1 games are missing now too.

Lou-Dawg
10-02-2006, 10:14 PM
I can't believe that .hack part 4 is considered a high end game. It was the final chapter of a very mediocre series...I would think that interest would only taper off as the series went on.

Many people are saying that Atlus (or maybe Gamequestdirect?) will reprint SMT:Nocturne soon in time for the release of Devil Summoner. If that's true, why doesn't Atlus offer pre-ordering or at least some kind of notice? The recent reprint of Disgaea was really sudden (unless you always have to assume that whenever a sequel comes out-Disgaea 2- that there will be a reprint of the original, which is not always the case). Anyway, we're only a week away from Devil Summoner so we'll see...

A one per customer/mailing address limit will squash any ninjas. *splat* As for the average RPG joe who never got to play Nocturne and doesn't want to pay double on ebay, the advance warning will help them set aside ~$50 for Nocturne that they might accidentally use on like food or gas or something...
