I'm going for the enclosure+internal drive route and trying to figure out which enclosure would work the best. This one seems to be decent and is about $40 on amazon:

It may have a heat issue but I primarily want to use it for monthly backups, and not as an everyday drive.

Does anybody know if this is a worthwhile enclosure? Any other recommendations? Thanks in advance.

I got the Vantec Nexstar 3. It got pretty good reviews, and I haven't had any problems with it that were its fault. I dropped it once and screwed through the LED cord, but it survived the drop and works fine without the LED. It costs $40 at Newegg including shipping. The case does get warm, but it's supposed to do that.

That looks like a nice one. I'm trying to get one as quickly as possible so the shipping time concerns me a bit. I think this is the one at Fry's:

Any other suggestions? Anyone tried the adaptec one?

My newest enclosure is this one:

I've had the drive on 24/7 for the last 4 or 5 days and it's still cool to the touch.

it was cheaper when I bought it ($20 I think). But now I wished I would of sprang for a vantec.
