Why isn't this game getting more love? Its going to have unlimited replay value, and if done right (I haven't been able to find any import reviews...if anyone knows of any please post the link) this could also be the best Wi-fi game for the DS...but none of the game review sites or even nintendo fan sites are giving the game much attention.

I can't wait to play Texas Hold'em with full touch screen control against international opponents...

Is anyone else excited about Clubhouse games? It comes out in about a week!

I'm definitely looking forward to this one - it's on my xmas wish list. As for why it isn't getting any attention... maybe because it's really just a collection of games that have been rehashed, redone, and ported to practically every computer system since the invention of the computer. :)

I just hope it has decent single player support, cause if it doesn't take off well, then it'll be nigh impossible to find an opponent to play online.

I would love this game if it weren't for the 29.99 price tag. I know, I know, there's a bunch of them, so many, and there's wifi for almost all of them. But like guy jr. says, they're all rehashed. I'll wait a while and see how it turns out first.

I'm mildly excited, but I don't want to pay $29.99 for it either, if it was $9.99 cheaper, then I'd definitely be picking it up on day one.

I got my issue of Nintendo Power in the mail today and they didn't give it a very good review. Hopefully the other reviews are better, I'm leaning towards buying it but I'm not sure, there's quite a few good DS games coming out in the remaining months of this year and not much money to spend on them...

I'll get it on a price drop as it seems like a great set of bar type of games.

I'm getting it once I can get a coupon or part of a deal making this about $20. No need for a full priced game over playing simple games like Darts and Hearts

Thanks for posting that! Made me more excited for it, since the biggest knocks against the game are the plain visuals and sound, and the fact that some of the games have slightly sub-par control (but how the hell can you make darts feel like the real thing with just a touch screen?), and I absolutely don't care how simplistic the graphics are (the more simplistic, the better IMO...I hate when they take something simple and try to make it flashy and it invariably sucks as a result...the best interpretations of card/board games I've ever seen have been really simple flash iterations...clean and functional, not flashy).

Anyways, this has only whet my anticipation and excitement more...I already have a copy preordered...can't wait to lie in bed and play Texas Hold'em :D

The game rocks...Game of the year, seriously. Darts and bowling alone are a blast, online pictochat, 8 players wifi...Its awesome stuff. The live worldwide rankings viewable in the game blew my mind.

Its a killer app IMO, don't dismiss it.

Battleship is in here as a game called Grid Attack and outside of the fact it uses Tetrisesque shapes instead of ships, its the same game and its fun as crap. You won't be dissapointed.

Wow thanks a lot for that! I hadn't been able to find good footage...hadn't thought to look on youtube *slaps forehead*

I LOVE how fast the CPU makes decisions...in a lot of games, the CPU takes forever to make bloody decisions, even on platforms where the processing power would allow it to be much faster. The controls for bowling and billiards look exactly as they should be. I love the look and feel of this game, just from screenshots and videos alone. Can't wait till next week either. I'll try and remember to make a friends code thread so we can exchange.

i really want to get this game, i didnt care much when i first heard of it, but the wifi thing would be pretty cool, and since i have wifi at home and work the occasional game of spades with some people sounds fun to me.

but the price is a little high, maybe itll be on sale at frys or something.

Isn't this game supposed to be $29.99? Damn EB games has their typical DS $5 over MSRP thing going on :bomb:. Hopefully GR will get it - I noticed that they got display cases for it, so that's a good sign.

I have credit at my GS, which fortunately has reasonable clerks, so I'll take a CC ad there on the 10th and pricematch the game down to 29.99. They really can't say much when I tell them everywhere else has it for 5 bucks less, and cite other instances of price gouging on their part. Even though its a gamestop, they'll usually accomodate.

Hey Womp, have you tried any of the games online? If so how is the game play? Is it a bit slow and tedeous, do you waste time waiting for the other person? And I know the game is not officialy out in the US till next week, but how quickly can you link up w/ some peple, and there many online?

Also do any of the games like darts or bowling support multiplayer on one DS, you know when you would pass it back and forth to take turns or must you have 2 DSs?

Since its only out in Europe right now there is a bit of a limit on how many people are online, eventually someone will connect but it does take some time...When this comes out in a few days over in the US things will be more on track and this will be remedied. Generally playing online is great though, when you play with people NOT on your friend list you cannot use the Pictochat feature normally, instead they have preset phrases to use to communicate with others which actually DOES work. The REAL fun though is playing like a 4 player game of Sevens or Darts with people that ARE on the friends list and sending messages in real time back and forth to each other. One of the coolest aspects is that if you are playing say 5 player Blackjack and one of your opponents bails or disconnects, the computer will take over in his place and play his hand so that the game isn't disrupted.

Games are not slow and tedious, they move along at a brisk pace to the point that you'll be saying "JUST one more!" its obviously up to the person who is at their turn to decide how fast things go but most of these games are faster paced anyway so its not an issue (Outside I guess something like Chess). Everything is very smooth, very polished. The WiFi may be the best yet in a DS game, connects in seconds, create or find a room, game boots right up...Very FAST and easy experience.

Its really a fantastic package...Sure there are a few bumps such as Billiards I feel having a lousy control scheme which essentially ruins it for me (Frankly Billiards sucks IMO) and there is some "Cheating" in specific card match situations by the computer but overall its all pulled off really well. I spent two hours playing it at the car dealer the other day while waiting for some maintainance. 8-)

Well worth the $29.99.

Thanks Womp for the reply. I stopped by EBGames last night and downloaded the Darts demo. I ended up playing almost 2hrs last night while watching TV. At first I though the controls were really bad and it was mostly luck. However after taking some time and trying to get the very subtle feel for it I think they are great; it does take some skill to get pretty good at aiming and yet they are sensitive enough that sometimes you hope you get little bit of luck, just like the real game. I can't wait for the full version. :bouncy:

Darts actually has really interesting controls, its amazing quite frankly how they pulled it off...Its all about steady straight "Strokes" of the stylus just the same way as if you were throwing an actual dart.

BTW, my co-host in crime on Dual Screen Radio, Shane, has done a ton of videos lately. Check out some video by going to the database entry of the game, towards the bottom just above the game info click on the VEOH link under the "Watch the video" heading for a nice quality overview of the gameplay. Here is the link (http://www.dualscreenradio.com/database/viewgame.php?gameid=348). FYI 42 All-Time Classics is the european name for Clubhouse Games.

Not to mention I can honestly say that this game with all its bells and whistles and pretty much neverending PORTABLE ONLINE gameplay is completely worth the $29.99 admission fee. This is something you can pick up and play anytime for some fast endless fun. A LOT of value here.

One of the best games I've played all year. Even if you find yourself not enjoying a few of the games (And you definitely will) you'll have such a broad base of games to choose and play to make it worth it. Its got something for everyone.

Online Dots and Boxes, Darts, Bowling and Grid Attack (Picture 4 player Battleship) are consuming most of my time ALONE and that still leaves *38* other games.

I don't mind paying $30 for a good game. The thing that kept this game off my radar was the little bit of info there was on it . Sure I'd find a little blurb here and there but that's about it. Hey I hear ya, I guess many in the media are dismissing it because its mostly old card and board games and we all know NO one is interested in stuff like that. Because its on the Nintendo DS and not on the 360 and doesn't involve gangsta's or Madden it gets pushed to the side. I guarantee if this was on XBox Live we'd see a 10 page spread on the front of 1up tomorrow.

The difference is, yes these are old card and board games (So it helps to have interest in stuff like Blackjack or Texas Hold Em) but the package they are in is really well put together. The thought of laying in bed or taking a dump and having the ability to play a round of say Sevens or Darts online with another human being in the palm of my hand gets me all excited.

Plus I can't find anything about any WiFi/multiplayer support fot the Ultimate games; and it looks like Clubhouse has a much wider veriety of games. Any thoughts about the Ultimate games????

The Ultimate Brain/Card games have been delayed since Summer of 2005 and based on a recent email sent to the company Telegames from a member of our Dual Screen Radio forums "2007" is the current timeline at the earliest of when we will see it. I don't believe it myself...This is about the 10th delay for this game and I'll believe it when I see it on the game rack in person. Do not let these games sway you into NOT buying Clubhouse Games, right off the bat no one even knows WHEN or IF Ultimate Brain/Cards will ship nor if it will even have WiFi. The way I look at it by the time it DOES eventually (If) comes out it'll just make a nice compliment to Clubhouse, that is IF it ends up being good in the first place. Clubhouse is here NOW and its a fantastic game.

I think the reason GO is missing is due to the limitations in RAM and the detailed manuevers needed for the AI to process all the moves in the game coherently.

I've honestly only played one match of Chess with my brother and was basically slaughtered, I'm not much of a Chess player and he creamed me. Its pretty much your basic Chess game though asthetically looking, and it seemed to play pretty smoothly. Not sure if you can change boards or pieces it does keep track of moves however.

After playing the single player for about 2 hours last night ("stamp mode") and a game of checkers online, I can say this si easily worth $20-$30. A lot of the more simply games are just obnoxious (Old Maid? Seriously?), but the more advanced stuff is great. GGC.

Gamer Gift Card. It's this gift card at Best Buy that has a $5.00 off coupon on the back of it, you just put a small amount of money on it and then use the money on the gift card and the coupon for whatever game you're trying to buy.

I usually just put the value of the game on the card, and then use that and the coupon.

Us CAGs would usually put about a penny on the gift cards, so we would have a large stockpile of them. However, Best Buy has since put a minimum on how much you can put it on it (I think it's $5.00 now.)

Picked it up at BB. One DS game after another, keeping me more interested than my 360.

40+ games for $30 is a steal. If this had been on XBL, the total would be over $200!

I suck at Poker, but if we can have a regular group that would play for real and not I AM IN ALL THE TIME!!!!! that would be a lot of fun :)

Well i just played a game against a stranger today and we checked a lot more than we called/raised, so it was definitely not an "all in, all the time" game and it was a lot of fun. I enjoyed blackjack a lot too, but there doesn't seem to be the ability to split in wi-fi multiplayer...don't know if its possible in single player.

All in all, a very nice feel to it. I hope we can get a group together.

I'll be in after Sunday for some wi-fi multiplayer. Don't have much time till then, plus extra $5off works for me.

Can you stack the GGC coupon on a item that's on sale? I thought that was prohibited.

I can't remember ever doing it.

Just bought this game and it's tons of fun. Definitely worth the $35 that I spent on it.

I've never had a problem doing that with games that are in their ad.

I picked this up on Tuesday and have been playing it non-stop.

-I love the way they renamed "Bullshit" into "I Doubt it"
-There are no splits in single player Blackjack/21. I do like the way you play, however. You start with 100 chips and three CPU players. After 5 hands the player with the most chips wins.
- Controls are touch only, for those anal people like myself who live in fear of scratching their precious bottom screen, beware.
- Rules are customizable, and cover numerous variations.
- It's $24 bucks at Fry's today. Getthegame, already!

Is there a hint somewhere? I just want to finish easy stamp mode. Played it almost the whole time I was waiting for the Wii this morning... nothing.

I dunno. I just picked up Clubhouse Games today and am not that impressed with it. The games I've played so far feel *very* stripped-down and greatly lacking in options. For instance, in Bowling, all you basically get to do is throw a ball down the lane using the touch screen. There isn't any hook/ball size options which even the shttiest bowling game will have.

And some games feel like they were throw in there just for filler purposes (Bottle Shake, Billiards). I haven't played much of the card games yet, which is the bread and butter of Clubhouse Games, so I'm sure those will be a bit more redeeming than the ones I've played.

Was really hoping to jump into this game this weekend but stupid GR still hasn't gotten it in yet. I may have to shell out the $5 premium to get it at EB. (I have credit at both places that runs at 50% cash cost, so GGC + PM at Best Buy is still more).

Snagged it at Best Buy today for $20, looking forward to playing. Let me know if anyone's put together any sort of times for CAGs to connect.

GR finally got my copy in on Saturday. I played a bunch of games with my kids last night and then played stamp mode myself later. I think I'll crack open that DS Lite I have sitting in the closet, and give my Teal DS to my daughter. That will mean we have 3 in the house. This is the "killer app" for having multiple DS's. I'm a bit worried, though, that the kids will get bored pretty quickly with it, and I'll have opened a DS for nothing (which, otherwise, I would sell).

Anyway, once I decide which DS to use, I'll post my friend's code.

True enough, some of the games are plain stupid (Bottle shake? And Old Maid for that matter), but there's plenty there to play. I had heard such bad things about billiards on CAG, but my kids had a lot of fun with that. They hate bowling because it is so damn sensitive (every ball -> gutter). I just unlocked Word Balloon (ie, hangman) and Ludo (which is sort of like Sorry, I think) - they will like both of those.

Got a copy and pretty much I echo what everyone else has said. Even the shitty games (particualrly Pool) have a bit of play in them.

So after playing though the "Easy" stamp mode, I decided to try the Mission mode. Man, some of those are going to be very hard. The easy ones - Memory and Spit. Blackjack took me a while but you can get through that with luck. I did the darts bullseye one, not TOO hard (3 bulls in 10 chances). The bowling ones will be difficult (3 strikes in a row, hit same pin 5 times in a row), and the pool ones are pretty hard too, but if you keep at it, you'll eventually luck out. Some of the others, though, look damn near impossible.

You have to "clear" misison mode to get the second music choice "Pop". Not really worth it, but I wonder who is going to actually be able to do that (or have the patience for it). You also get a new icon for every mission you finish, so that might be motivation to do some of them, anyway (got a cool Scorpion one for one of them - will probably be my Wifi icon :D).
