Totally called it. EA put up a really fancy Marketplace page on their main site during TGS and I told my brother that I bet this means they're going balls-to-wall with content all over the place.

The only EA sports title I'm getting is Tiger Woods, but I can't fault them for asking for money for real courses since Microsoft did the same thing with Links 2004. However, I'd hate for them to offer downloads like ''Tiger Woods' character model circa 2001''

The only way EA could redeem themselves after this fiasco is if the content downloads transfered to future titles. But, I don't see it happening.

What pricing strategy? It's $60 for a version of Madden that's missing features, and now we're paying $3 a piece for one new stadium? Give me a break, I think EA is guilty of "let's pull out stuff on purpose to add to the Marketplace later", since every other Madden had alternate jersey's to my knowledge. I was highly disappointed to see they are gone and now I've got to pay money to get them?

from the looks of it $30 seems more valid. If you can find it, Xboxyde has the first 10 min of gameplay for download... it's not much... gamebrink.com has a decent review also that tells you how much the game is actually worth.

After hating Woods 06 for the 360 I am loving the new demo. They tightened up the swings and just made it control much better. I also love the fact that you no longer need to use the L bumper button, which is almost imposible to use for the extra umph (you can now use A).

In essence you would haven't saved me any time at all but you would have gave me missinformation. This is why I love Live, now I can gather my own opinions.

Off topic but I wish EA would release PGA 2 (Genesis vers.) on the Live Arcade, since IMHO it is still the best golf game ever made.

I totally agree, I'm a sucker for picture packs but If I can't see them ahead of time, I really dont buy them (with the exception of Lego Star Wars II). I did hear a few weeks back that the next marketplace update will provide previews for the gamerpics and themes so I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that they pull through on that one.

The argument put forth by people that don't see a problem is this:

(In Company man voice) Because of the 50 meg XBLA limit, they are actually doing us a great SERVICE by cutting it up, and "reducing" the cost down to 1200 points for the base (read: demo) game. Now, if you really like certain aspects of Lumines after buying it (vs cpu, multiplayer, missions) then you have the option and choice of extending the game by buying those add-ons. Isn't that so much better than spending $30-$40 outright for a game with components you may not want or ever play?! You now have the option of buying only the parts you want!

The reality, imo, is:

Most sane people don't like buying a supposedly full game for more than the average cost of an XBLA, just to play for an hour and see a messages that tells you that you have to spend more $. Oh and to top it off, those add-ons aren't even available.
So what we have here today is a 1200 point demo that you can't buy the full version of. Thanks, play again.

Are the adidas gamer pics and themes region specific and/or limited-time only? They show them up on the Xbox site linked in the OP, but I can't find them anywhere. I really want the theme they have up.

Ok good news and bad news. I know where you can get them free. I spotted this at my local Circuit City, so all you need is a memory card and you can download them from the kiosk for free. They also have a Kameo DL but i have no clue whats in it. Anyways, hope this helps.

the DOAX2 trailer's pretty ridiculous. I felt the first game was fairly suggestive, but pretty much left a lot to your sick mind. but X2 doesn't hold back, apparently.. back massages, pole dancing, whale riding, the girls rolling around on top of each other...oh my :lol:


there's something really strange about the graphics though...besides the obvious clipping and fucked up hair (it looks like they had ribbons transplanted on to their heads.) Can't put my finger on it...I think it's the collision or something.

edit: I originally thought the cars were the pre-order downloadable ones since Gamestop.com and and EA's store is offering two different ones, but I guess offering things that are otherwise unavailable in the game doesn't make too much sense.
