Just got my 360 so bare with me...is it cool/okay to connect the power brick into a surge protector/power strip...OR is it better for it to be plugged in straight into a wall outlet? Thanks CAGs.

the xbox service reps recommended for me to plug it into the wall. they say the power brick has a surge protector in it.

Is there any reasoning to that?
my surge proctector has some $ warranty if components get cooked. I have everything plugged into that thing

something about having two surge protectors blocking power from the 360...?
I really don't know what that's all about, but mine has always been in a surge protector without any problems.

MS customer service reps have also told me to keep the 360 plugged directly into a wall outlet. They specifically said do not plug it into a surge protector as the power brick has a built-in surge protector.

Did Microsoft also mention that if you don't have a warranty left and the brick does burn up that it's about $80 or so to replace? Because I understand that it has a surge protector built in and I understand that it will give it's life to save the 360 if there is a sudden jolt of electricity, but it doesn't cancel out the excessive cost of the power brick itself.
