Defendants Divineo Inc., Divineo UK and Divineo SARL, along with one Canadian and one French resident, incurred fees totaling $9,541,600 for trafficking mod chips and the HDLoader software. Such items facilitate the illegal copying of game software.

First off if you want to copy a PS2 game of any sort you can use most of any DVD backup utilities and presto your verey own PS2 or PSX game.

Second off HDloader is just one of the many ways out there to play PS2 games of a HD besides using a modchips. Modchips is an alteration to the hardware and is wrong when in truth you just need to disable the region lock and switch the bios which requires tools that most engineers use.

Third off Modchips destroys the PS2 Warrenty and is okay in my book when creating your own personal GUI. This is a good thing for retailers since people wll probably go threw more then 10 or more PS2's just ot get it right.

They are going to do it agian with the PS3 why even bother. The whole idea is to get people to own more then one PS2 or PS3. My gamestore sold Modified GCN and PS2 when they both came out and it was not that gay modification crap ether.

Are modchips actually considered illegal in Canada?

rabble rabble rabble

That was really one of the dumbest things you've posted yet.

I love HDLoader. Loading in half the time for the win.

title is misleading because Divineo is a company that sells mod chip and HDLoader. The people that make HDLoader are not in trouble. The lastest version are files you can download and not something you can buy.

HDLOADER was always free for download....it was creating the Bootable DVD that was tricky. I personally just use HD ADVANCE 3.0 now.......more disk space....

i.e. 200GB Hard Drive Maximum = ~ 60 Games......

Having four PS2s (in different locations).....suffice to say it saves me a hell of a hassle carting games to and from different places.

Now if only I could get around to modding my XBOX I'd finally have some shelf space for the next gen stuff.

Under the original HDLoader, or perhaps it was a limitation of the PS2 itself, it only detects the first 120 or so gigs of business on your drive.

You guys know nothing of the 48-bit LBA patch. Or any HDL patches apparently.

I just started using HDLoader last week. PSX memery card exploit works great for anyone with the fat PS2 and the useless PS2 HDD. All I needed to buy was a Action Replay Max.

I have been told that HDLoader can use 200 GB HDD with a patch but my 40 GB HDD that has been sitting in my PS2 doing nothing since I stopped playing FFXI is more then enough space for me. It does cut down on load times a significant amount.

I love using my thumb drive as a memory card. ^_^
