I just got a bunch of second hand Xbox games, and they're all scratched to hell. I REALLY want to play Manhunt; can somebody give some advice on ressurecting my discs?

If they are pretty badly scratched, I suggest getting them professionally re-surfaced. You can probably find someone to do it at a local video rental place. I know of a Hollywood Video near where I live that will do it; I think it was about $2 a disc. I suggest checking at Hollywood Video stores, especially ones with an attached GameCrazy.

However, if the foil on the disc is scratched, the disc cannot be saved at all.

Like he said - if top part (label) is damaged, throw it away.

You could also purchase Disc Doctor - it has a sand paper that sands it down one layer. Brings disc back to life

That's only true of CDs. With DVDs, the data is sandwiched between layers of polycarbonate, so a scratch on top (unless it's really deep) isn't an issue.
