Is the deal that bad or is it the game?

VGD: $44.99 shipped

all B+M stores near me: $49.99 + tax = $54.99

nice way to save $10. I'll have to wait and see how good it is, before I get in on this.

It's the game. 5.4 scores from Gamespot and IGN

ugh...the readers seem to score it a bit better

when is there gonna be a game people actually want to buy! (besides Halo 2)

If I actually had some money, I'd buy it. And Disgaea. And Manhunt. And a shitload of other titles. But, being an unemployed 16 year old doesn't give much financial flexibility.

I concur. The game looks very stylish and cool. But when a game receives a 5.5 from BOTH Gamespot AND IGN, something must have gone terribbly wrong. Its quite sad, I thought it looked like a cool game. This is the 2nd year in a row Atari rushed something. First ETM, now this. SO sad...

First off, this game was not rushed. They pushed it back numerous times but just feels like they did nothing. The same thing for for ETM and games like Tomb Raider:AoD. They just sucked to begin with...and had fundamental flaws that starting from scratch would have been better.

EGM (8.5 / 7.5 / 6.5)and UK PS Mag (90%) liked it. I read EGM's review and, basically, it looks like the only people that will be satisfied with it are the ones that enjoyed Driver 1 & 2 back in their day. People complain about pop-up and jaggies, but they're much better than they used to be, and the gameplay remains true to the spirit of Driver, not something new. Being a huge fan of the original two, I'll rent it, and if EGM proves right, I'll buy it from defender.

I just got them back in stock and at a cheaper price. The game is not all that great but still for those who are die hard GTA fans this game might hold you over.

Defender, have they been moving at a decent clip from the B&M and online? I'm curious as to whether or not the reviews had an impact on sales.

Also, to thread drift for a moment, are you still planning on closing up shop at the end of the year?

Is the deal that bad or is it the game?

It's the game. It's an awful, awful game that people shouldn't pay $20 for, let alone $38. Still, thanks for giving us a deal - not your fault the game sucks.

I actually am really liking this game right now. The reviewers are just way too picky!

How are you able to do this game for $38 but can't have another better game at this price instead? I'm guessing that you were able to get this game cheaper or something.

It's worth at least $30 for the Take a Ride mode and film director alone IMO. The story (what I played) was pretty meh, bt Take a Ride is so much damn fun. If I had a bit more money, I'd probably pick it up.

I suggest you stock up on San Andreas - you won't be disappointed.
