View Full Version : So where do you expect to see Gamerscores by the end of the 360 Era?

This is just me being bored out of my mind and what not...
But it makes me think..
By the end of the Xbox 360 (hopefully this lasts like 5 more years), where do you expect to see the average gamerscore? Of course, from people who've gotten the 360 at launch up until within the first year of it being out.
Think a million points is possible???? Though, I guess that means completing 100 games (or with a mix of retail/arcade..etc..)
But here's another thing..you think Microsoft will let us keep our gamerscore for whatever their next console is? I mean, I'd hate to play all those games..reach say a million points with probably THOUSANDS of achievments..only for it to be not be used anymore :(
Just hypothetical here--please, no flames or anything negative.

they'll probably abbreviate huge scores when it gets to that point...

I don't think they're going to be carried over to the next console since achievement points are just that...points. It's not like you can use them for something.

just so you know, you would have to play 1000 games to get a million points. And, im pretty sure the points stop at 99,999 points

Well i know they aren't good for anything. But IMO, I think that the Achievment system/gamerscore is what something that the future Gen of gaming should all have. It really is one of my favorite features about the 360. I know some people truly don't give a shit, and some people are way obsessed with it.
What's the highest you've seen? I've seen some people around 30K already.

I've seen 50k gamerscores. I don't know how they do it, they must play every game that comes out.

The person with the highest Gamerscore right now is at 80,000+.
I highly doubt, that the maximus is 99,999.

Just about to post the same thing... Rance 6 should be 100k + by the end of November

I'm praying gamerscores are non-existant on the PS3. Reading "h4h4 no gamerscores for u" posts by 360 fanboys every once in a while is far better than listening to people justify their love for them.

NO fuckING WAY... that is pitiful
Edit: It's pitiful for the buyer, not Rance... It's also pretty bad though, these high scoring gamercards don't show there games anymore, I don't know if they took back his position in the world because of that dumb gamesaves stuff, he may be selling it bc of that, and $6,000 dollars, that's just reeeediculous

Pfft, that's only like $1.20 an hour.
That is, why is someone paying that much for this? I guess it's the same theory as that lag switch auction posted a few weeks ago. "I can't win, but I need to so I'll pay for it." I don't get it...

The highest on Xbox Live right now is Rance6 with 81048 GS.
At some point I want to get the Blockbuster Game Pass in the summer and just start demolishing their games for gamerscore purposes.
edit: just read the thread... sweet, that guy can get a launch PS3 and Wii with tons of accessories and games and pay off the AAA games for each system then still have a few thousand left for real world expenses.

Did anyone notice that there is still 2.5 days left on the auction, and twenty bidders. I wouldn't be suprised if that goes over $20,000.
I can't believe this is happening, I am perfectly happy with my hard earned gamerscore that is almost 5000. To pay money for worthless points is crazy.

Wow. $6,000 is crazy judging on how I just bought a car for $9,000. And at least I can actually DO something with my car.

Why would someone want a 80,000+ gamerscore? To prove they have no life at all?

Hey if someone would, I'm way too tired right now to do it, but take the amount of days since November 15, 2005 until now... then take the hours and see what percentage 5000 is of that:shock:

I see no reason why Microsoft won't let you keep your gamerscore for their next console. I think they would piss a lot of people off if they reset it.

Mine is going to be at around 12k at the year mark, basically 1k a month. But that is from only having one console to play. The wii will disrupt that. lol
A conservative guess at the 5 year mark would be right under 50k for me. That is assuming the 360 lasts longer than it's 4 year predecessor.

I predict I have 15K-20K by the end of my 360 career, tops...maybe less.

I love the achievement system - it gives a tiny bit of satisfaction when you unlock one. I see myself in the 20,000 range by the time the system is dead...

Hehe, yeah. The other night I started whooping and hollering because while I was playing Uno online I started getting achievement after achievement unlocked. Made me really feel like I was kicking ass. Even though I was losing, and the achievements are easy as hell. :applause:

I am just curious as to whether or not he's still on his first 360. If I could get 5000 hours PT out of mine, it would last for years.

You are forgetting that they are going to be adding achievements to Live anywhere and PC games. So in the future your one gamertag will earn 360, PC games, and cell phone game achievements. Thes scores are going to get ridiculous. I am thinking easily a million plus. Especially because their is no way that they are going to erase your achievements, since your are going to be able to use it on PCs which don't have new consoles to migrate to. Will probably just transfer your gamertag the same way from xbox > 360 > xbox 3. These scores are going to be around for years if you hang on to the same account.

I wouldn't be surprised if you see scores around 300K+ by the time the end of this generation if the system in fact gets enough games to allow such a score. Maybe even 500K.
As for my score, my interest in achievements has dropped off quite a bit recently but I play my 360 pretty much exclusively and I rent/buy 2-3 games a month and unless I don't like the game I usually try to beat it so my score could end up at 100K+. Then again, I'm thinking of just starting a new gamertag each year as my previous XBL runs out.
