The new Mortal Kombat game is going to be released on Tuesday according to this weeks Best Buy ad. Do you think the XBOX version will be XBOX 360 compatable

The xbox version is going to be out next week Tuesday the 17th, and no BC.

I'm actually glad it's coming out for the XBox. Nice to see that a few companies haven't abandoned a perfectly acceptable system, unlike its daddy...
No BC for it. However, the previous games in the series (that use the same engine) are. I would expect that we'll get an update eventually that lets you play it on the 360.
Really, the fanservice opening movie is arguably what I'm most looking foward to with this game.

Man I picked up deception at Best Buy for $10 and wow it drove me nuts.
Maybe it's just the BC on the 360 but the combos are pretty much impossible to pull off. The timing has to be so perfect, I couldn't stand how difficult the moves were to pull off. If Armageddon plays similar, I won't buy it.
But here's for hoping UMK3 is good.

No, Mortal Kombat Armageddon IS going to be out tomorrow. They already have it in the back room at my local EB Games. I just wanted BC.

Ive heard several reports its been delayed until the 17th...Regardless if you're EB puts it out or not.

I think I'm just going to get the PS2 premium edition eventually, regardless if it become BC or not.
It's easier to control on the PS2. The original Xbox controller ruined Deception for me.

That doesn't mean anything. Stores often get products in stock long before the release date.
Like said earlier, if this is pushed back a week it may be fore a B/C update, and/or UMK3 coming out on Live. I'd definitely expect UMK3 either this week or next.

I don't know if you fall into this category, but if you're used to stuff like Virtua Fighter and Soul Calibur, you're going to be having a hard time at first with MK and the dial-a-combo system. I haven't seen much difference at all between playing Deception on my XBox and on my 360.
Dial-a-combo doesn't bother me because I don't take time to fucking memorize every move for every character, but many hardcore fighting game fans are turned off by it.

I dunno, I was fine with it in Killer Instinct and Tekken, Tekken being my favorite fighter.
Something about the newer MK's though, I just couldn't get the timing down worth a shit.

I'm kinda 50-50 when it comes to kombos. Some times I can bust out a 10-15 hit juggling supershow, while other times I can't seem to pull off X,X,O :(
Oh, and afaik, EB/GS have the Xbox version, but have been ordered to wait a week or two before releasing. Some sort of memo that came with the games or something.

EB/GS does not have the game.. well, they didn't as of Tuesday. It hadn't even shipped out yet. I love how everyone thinks the back room of EB/GS is a magical place filled with games and systems that haven't been released to the public.

My local GS has the PS2 version, but not the Xbox version. Something about how their distribution got screwed up.
