Which are you most excited for?

If you had to choose only one or the other right now, knowing what we know and having played/seen what we've seen, which would you choose?

Gears

Gears in walk. Easily.

Lost Planet looks like a solid game and the demo was enjoyable, but now that I've seen the GoW multiplayer videos, I'm 100% sold on it.

Lost Planet. Although I will buy both and Gears of War is looking better and better everyday, the SP demo of Lost Planet blew me away and I'm sure the MP demo (coming out soon) will be even better. Either way you look at it though, you have Capcom and you have Epic, so you can't lose.

edit: just noticed the irony of my comment and my sig ;)

Lost Planet... because I've played the demo and it's awesome. Gears of War looks pretty and sounds great but until I can try it I can't say I'm more excited about it than Lost Planet...

If I wouldn't have seen the MP videos last night I would have picked Lost Planet but since I saw them, definately Gears of War. One of the best looking games ever!

EDIT: Definately buying both at launch though.

I have played lost planet, so I know that I enjoy it rather then making my decision on videos or pictures. GOW looks ok but I would rather of had Halo 3 then GOW for the big tittle of the holiday.

When I found out GoW lets you co-op the entire singe player campaign over Live, which Halo 2 should have had, I became very happy I preordered it on April, 20th.

You need to have the option for both because I am not passing either title up both should be fantastic!

Well I already knew most of us here plan to get both. I was merely curious at which one people are MOST excited for.

Maybe a better poll would have been who DOES NOT plan to get both.

That's like asking a mother which child she loves more.

Obviously it's the more beautiful one.
So gears it is.

Lost Planet, cause I've played the demo.

can't really say anything about Gears cause I haven't tried it out yet. All I know is that both look amazing, but I think Lost Planet might end up having the better single player campaign, which is most important to me.

Easy, Lost Planet

It's a tough call because I expect them to be entirely different experiences, and not just in terms of theme and gameplay. I'll blast through the dozen or so hours of the single-player campaign of Gears, then get wrapped up in the online multi. I'm thinking Lost Planet will be longer, slower, and more difficult in the single player--and I'm doubting seriously that I'll even touch its multiplayer.

Of course, the proof is in the playing, and I could be talking entirely out my ass.

Gears. I haven't read much on Lost Planet so I don't know all the details, but the demo was fun. But Gears just looks and sounds like it is going to be amazing.

Lost planet MP using the mechs is AWSOME!

I'd say Gears, but I think both are being way over hyped.

am i the only one who didnt like the lost planet demo?

lost planet is the one with the snow, right? in the demo level?

i thought it was incredibly boring...the shooting wasnt much fun to me, and the mech wasnt all that great IMO

so gears of wars it is! it looks really viceral and satisfying to play

Yes that's it but that demo, as I understand it, was essentially a tech demo pre-beta.

well, many people on CAG enjoyed it regardless of it being a tech demo....i just dont find it much fun :( if it get's good reviews, i'll try it out again...but after i played about 20 mins of the demo, i deleted it right there, as it wasn't cuttin it for me

I guess I'm one of the few who didn't really like the Lost Planet demo, incredible graphics and pretty good gameplay, but somehow I was left unimpressed, so def GoW for me

Lost Planet is awesome, but the Mech gameplay was horrific.

I'm looking foward to Lost Planet more. The demo simply blew me away- it was unique, solid, and damn good looking.

That being said, though, I'm still really hyped about Gears of War.

I will probably end up with both, unless Gears ends up sucking horribly somehow.

I'd say Gears, but I think both are being way over hyped.

The difference being, the MS machine is hyping Gears while the public is hyping Lost Planet based on the demo.

MS is pushing Gears too hard. I'm having a Perfect Dark Zero dejaVu and I don't want to get burned. I'm getting a Wii, so I will wait a month or so to see how Gears plays out.

I voted for Lost Planet.

I voted for Lost Planet. GoW seems like a typical war game. Lost Planet at least is trying something different with a Hoth+Starship Troopers+Mech+FPS thing going on.

The flip side of that coin - they pushed the Halo games even harder, and those turned out great. More than great.

Gears and PDZ are miles apart. PDZ wasn't even MS' golden boy (girl?) when the console came out...by then, everyone knew CoD2 was the game to get.

Not to mention Rare has been fairly disappointing since they left Nintendo. On the other hand, Epic has a history of quality games and satisfying their customers - check out all the free stuff they released for UT2004.

Besides that, MS likely won't let Epic disappoint with this one. This is their big gun against their strongest competition so far. I'm not expecting perfection, because people will always find a reason to bitch about something even if it's minor nitpicking. Very few superhype games live up to the anticipation they receive...GTA 3, N64's Zelda game, Halo, Soul Calibur, and Super Mario 3 spring to mind, but almost every game released is going to be "a letdown" to some extent when it's as big as this. As long as it's a fantastic looking singleplayer game with fresh gameplay (both appear to be the case now) and has solid multiplayer (ditto), this should be the game to get for the 360 this year.

I voted for Lost Planet. GoW seems like a typical war game. Lost Planet at least is trying something different with a Hoth+Starship Troopers+Mech+FPS thing going on.
That doesn't sound like something different, it sounds like a lot of ideas mashed together. Next to nothing is "something different" these days. GoW included.

I also didn't think too much of the demo. Great setting, yes. Average control and gameplay...nothing memorable. That said, multiplayer will make or break this one for me. If the multiplayer is good, I'm all over it.

I KNOW I will love Gears, plus the multiplayer vids, and now new teaser site, have me hyped to the extreme.

Lost planet looks to have better multiplayer, and I will adore playing it this winter, but right now I'm excited about what is in front of me: Gears of War, less than a month away.
