Just started playing last night-- put in about 3 hours and I'm on Chapter 4. checked a FAQ and there are 10 chapters. Are the later levels longer or this just a really short game?

Not a very long game, I beat it in one day. It is however a fantastic game, though nobody every gives it any credit. I realy think it got lost in the launch.

good to know. yeah, I got it at launch and didn't give it much of a chance. Decided to play it again proper-- at nights, lights out, alone-- and it's freaking awesome :)

I'd say closer to 8 if you're like me and it scares the poop out of you and you end up moving slow as hell through everything so you don't have something surprise you and make you soil your couch...

yeah I think it took me about 8 hours
I beat it in 8 1/2 hours, getting all of the achievements.

I can only play a level a day, because it scares me so much that after I finish one chapter I'm too tense to play anymore. I've been living in fear ever since sometime in the second chapter I looked over a railing just for kicks and someone jumped up at me.

I think I took over 8 hours or so too, but it might have been a little longer. The game is probably just around the right length. Just long enough to stay suspenseful and not start gettting redundant.

and short enough to return within 7 days to EB after beating it. Sweet ;)

that was a pretty fucked up scare. How about this one:
chapter 3 when you don't see anyone for a long time, then you open up a locker and that junky girl pops out at you and screams.

i don't see why the shortness of a game should detract people from playing it. MGS on ps1 can be beaten in 4 hours. It's one of the best games ever made.

Mine's about 8 or 9, but one time I saw a guy's who was almost 13!!! It was unbelievable and probably (I'd imagine) quite painful

Yea but if a game is real short and offers no replay it is perfect for a rental instead of a buy. I like knowing how long a game is before going into it

i've replayed COndemned about 5 times, it has replay value, it's one of the best. dare I say. THE best game on 360.

I could see myself playing it again just because it's short and awesome. I'm a lot less likely to play a longer game again...replay value is pretty subjective.
'course, not until it drops to $10 or so.

Seriously, Condemned kicks total ass. Worth at least a rental. I rented and finished it in about 8 hours but plan to pick it up eventually when it is dirt cheap and play through it again. Good times.

In the abandoned department store when some of the "crazies" are inside of the mannequins. The first time one moved...
I heard people finish this game under three hours.

Funny story about that..
The very first mannequin I saw, I actually smacked it in the head with a pipe to see if you could break it down and uses pieces of it.. it turned out to be the very first man-nequin, and I couldn't understand why the freakin' mannequin ragdolled when I killed it.. I figured it out when the rest started moving :P

You could, but not the first time through.
I concur. You could make it through in three hours AFTER you've been through once and know what to do.
8-12 hours getting all achievements.
