Does anyone know if there's a limit on how many Wii's I can preorder at TRU? I'm getting one for myself, and my dad asked me to go ahead and preorder one for my brother's Christmas present (we live in different states). Will I be able to preorder 2?

I doub't you can pre-order more than one by yourself.

I just wonder which it is: if it's something that we'll NEED to get there super early for, or if it's like sren9 said, something they'll be doing for a couple of days at the least to get as many as they can get.

If it's a matter of having to get there at 6AM to wait in a line, I'll pass and just do my waiting on the 19th!

I doubt it would be something for a couple of days. Especially if there are hundreds of people going to preorder.

I am sure that when I pull up at 6am on sunday, there were be a massive amount of people there and those that do not get a PS3 will get the Wii.

Oops! I did it again.
10-23-2006, 12:07 PM
You might be right, I just didn't think there would be hundreds of people ready and willing to pre-order at each individual Toys R Us in a period of a couple of days (especially considering how many pre-orders have already been issued by EB/GS). You might be right, though...people have had more warning for this pre-order than they did EB/GS, plus obviously there are fewer TRU locations than EB/GS so each store will have a heavier load. So who knows!

I figure I'll just going to try my luck at getting there when they open and no earlier. If I get denied, big whoop - I'll wait for 8+ hours on the 18th. If I get one, then that's nice too. :D

Wolfpup

And they're opening at their regular time, right? Mine says it opens at 11am on Sundays.

And does Toys R Us give refunds if we decide not to get a system? (Or at least give in-store credit?)

If they really are doing PS3 and Wii preorders, I can see myself getting there a few hours ahead of time. I'm really not sure what to expect.

As I stated before...Yes there will be PS3 preorders...but unless you are one of the first few people in line you are out of luck....Preorders will begin on the 29th just like the Wii...There are only 2 to 4 systems available for preorder at each store....If anything changes I will post it here...As for when the store opens on the 29th??? The midwest region will be opening at 8am. Call your local store to find out what time they will be opening that day. I suggest not calling the Saturday before because the phones may not get answered due to business...Also some stores may not know when they are opening yet....

hey, do you know if theres a preorder limit? because i need to get 2 consoles one for me, and for as a gift to my friend, so can i preorder more than 1? or is it 1 per person?

No it doesn't... i think PS3 is much harder to get on launch day, b/c of the # of units. *sigh* even with the high price tag, PS3 is going hot! Well, primarily b/c it plays Blue-Ray... i guess none gamers are getting it to play BR movies.

I don't know what i'm gonna get... Well, let's see, if i'm lucky to secure a PS3 pre-order, then i'm all for it. If not, oh well, try the Wii... If both, wow, that's cool with me.

The thing with TRU is that, when you preorder, say you're number 6 and they say they'll get 10 in. But on launch day they only get 5. Does that mean I should also wait in the morning on lauch day in hopes of getting one, or will they follow order by ticket/line number and not bother?

I live in the Bronx, but in the northwest Bronx. So, there's no Toys R' Us near me. Which is why I was thinking about camping out in front of the Times Square Toys R' Us. Not the best location, for sure. However, since it's their flagship store, one would assume that they would receive a respectable amount of units, as opposed to the other Toys R' Us locations scattered throughout Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, Staten Island, and even Yonkers. The only thing I'm worried about is the rumor that the PS3 pre-ordering may be called off, due to Sony's inconsistent numbers, in regards to the units they're supposed to ship. I'd be royally pissed, if I had to put up with frigid NYC weather for hours, only to find that I still can't secure a pre-order. Hopefully, one of their employees will post and give us some firm info within the next couple of days. This way, none of us CAGers waste our time.

As of right now, this is Brick and mortar only. I wouldn't expect to see any online pre-ordering of the PS3 , from Toys R' Us any time soon. I heard that EB games is doing some pre-ordering soon (bundles), but we'll see.

You should only be able to preorder one. If a scumbag scalper gets 1# in line, say goodbye to your preorders for both Wii and PS3. Only thing you gained was a fever from staying out so long in the cold.

Aren't there core PS3s? That would suck if they were all cores.

someone called my section yesterday (R-Zone) and said they got the Big Book in the mail the other night. wondering about the pre-orders.

to my knowledge the Big Book hasn't been mailed out yet right?

also for TRU preorders, no you don't need an ID. usually you are given a slip/ticket with the item name/barcode etc. the associate should staple your receipt to the slip, so when you come in to pick it up, you should have both attached to each other.

just make sure you keep both.

They really should be doing these on different days. The PS people will be out in full force early to camp out for those [potential] 5 systems they will get. lol. I don't want to have to deal with that when pre-ordering a Wii.

Here's hoping the managers come out early and send 90% of the PS3 people home due to supplies.

So the ad mentions nothing about being forced to get a bundle. Is it possible they'll say nothing about it now, and if I go to pick it up on the 17th, they'll be like you have to take a bundle?

I'm not expecting to get a preorder but I at least want to try. Have to take a train and bus to get there (should take an hour in transit) so prolly can't get there earlier than an hour before they open. If there's already a huge line by then, so be it. If not, I'll be feeling pretty cool.

Well, the October 29th date is quickly approaching. Hopefully we'll get some info concerning the PS3 preorders allotment before Saturday. I really want one, and if they force a bundle on me, so be it. I say this, because I'll need something to play anyway. If this were the case, which it probably isn't, Resistance would have to be offered. I have my fingers crossed that the NYC Toys 'R' Us I plan on waiting in front of, offers more than 5 systems and that I'm one of the first people in line for a PS3.

I went by my local TRU today and the woman behind the counter of the "R Zone" had to be at least 30 years old. I grabbed a Wii display box and took it to the register.

I ask her if I can pre-order it. She says, "The 17th". I am confused and ask her very clearly if I can pre-order it. She tells me that it comes out the 17th.

I lose my patience and once again put emphasis on the pre part of pre-order. She says that TRU isn't pre-ordering them at all and to be there on launch day right when they open. So I ask if other TRU stores are doing pre-orders. She tells me they are not.

At this point I'm actually slightly amused at her ignorance and that I am better informed from the Interweb than she is by the corporate mechaniations within her company. I decide since she was so helpful in regards to the Wii I should ask about the PS3.

She tells me they aren't taking pre-orders on that either, and if I want one I should be at the store on launch day "as soon as the store opens" or else I won't be getting one. She goes on to say that they are making "more than 400,000 Wiis, and less PS3s than that".

I sigh and walk out the store.

What really gets me is that I am 19 years old and fresh out of high school and I have a much better job than her, and for good reason, I'm not borderline retarded.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Laugh because your writing of the story is so darn funny :applause: or cry because I know it's not fiction  !

sren, greatly appreciate what you've done, but I just want to clarify since people asking questions has gotten confusing.

The TRU Big Book will be in effect (turned on) beginning on Friday, October 27 with the exception of TMX Elmo, Wii and PS3 Preorders.

Are these three items not going to be in the TRU system until October 29th, or is there just a memo that says "NO PREORDERS UNTIL OCTOBER 29th"? Basically, is it possible to get a preorder on Friday morning with an idiot employee?

Rictor
10-25-2006, 04:43 AM
Heh, I can see the crowd at TRU now for the stupid Tickle Me Elmo/PS3/Wii combo. Where do you preorder this stuff? The customer service desk? The R-Zone? Either way, there's not going to be an orderly line going there once the doors open. People will be sprinting and pushing each other, so unless the managers actually go outside before the store opens like Best Buy does and hand out tickets to those in line, being first in line won't actually mean anything.

What really sucks, is that the TRU near me went out of business. I always showed up right when they opened for stuff like this and I usually beat the crowds by an hour on this side of town. The other TRU stores get a LOT more business though, which, I guess, is why they're still IN business.

I'm king of wishing I'd preordered a PS3 at EB now, considering only 2 people showed up early at my local store according to the manager. Would have been an easy $1,000 on Ebay and paid for Christmas gifts for the whole family plus some.

I just hope we get some numbers on how many Wiis they will be doing pre orders for. If the stores have 100 elmos, and only 50 wii pre orders, it is going to be hard to judge if people are there for one or the other or both. Pretty crappy how they are doing all 3 on the same day!

I keep hearing this, but I don't get the difference.

A pre-order is basically a promise that you'll get one on launch day without waiting in line. Choosing to camp now or later has the same result, you'll get a PS3...and I'd rather camp in weather now than in the middle of November.

I just don't get the shock of people camping for pre-orders...it's just paying for the system in advance, but it has the same result.

But preorders don't necessarily guarantee yourself a system. Theoretically, if a company is ran well, they wouldn't give out preorder slips unless they were very certain you'd be able to get a preorder, but the reality is companies like gamestop aren't exactly ran the most efficiently.

I'm totally confused as to when I should get there. I will *NOT* get there more than about 4 hours in advance (ie 6am). If I have to do that, I'll just wait.

I'm also NOT going unless I can preorder BOTH systems, as I think I'll be able to get a Wii quickly either way, and I'm not waiting in line for one.

I'm also baffled by this Tickle Me Elmo thing. People would CAMP OUT for it?!?

Anyway, the dude told me that the Wii & PS3 will be available to be pre-ordered on Sunday...PS3 is limited but the Wii isn't...Dude said whatever pre-orders we get that's how many they will ship @ launch...So you're guarantee to get one if you pre-order the Wii this Sunday...

That fits with everything I've been hearing to this point. I honestly think that TRU has a sweetheart deal with Nintendo as their favored release partner and that's why they're being given the opportunity to arrange as many preorders as the can and get those added to their usual alotment (in fact, the number of preorders each location pulls down may DICTATE that alotment...locations with more preorders will get larger shipments overall). Good for TRU, good for Nintendo, good for us. Everybody wins. Except Sony. ;)

Spoke to a manager today. Pre-orders confirmed for Sunday. This specific Toys R Us will have 4 PS3s for pre-order and 18 Wiis.

There you have it.

Edit: However, don't assume these allocations are the same for your store. Apparently, number allocations were given to the MAIN store manager (that's who I spoke to) yesterday at their regional meeting. I hope this helps.

Oops! I did it again.

Interesting.

So sren9 said right from the get-go that each TRU will basically take as many pre-orders as they can get over a couple of days. Now some people are hearing set allotment numbers (very SMALL allotment numbers) while rcaido seems to have heard a report that lines up with the original word from sren9.

Hmm...who knows what the policy will be, hopefully we here more before Sunday. I'd love to be able to avoid the triple-threat waiting line on Sunday morning, in a big way...

So here is the official news:

Preorders are definitly happening for Wii and PS3 on Sunday the 29th.
Even though the rest of Big Book goes active on the 27th, the pre-orders and TMX Elmo are being held until Sunday.

Pre-orders will be for systems only-no bundles. *edit-apparently some stores are taking the asinine approach of forcing bundles. This is not nation wide. So I suppose the bundle/no bundle thing turns out to be YMMV.

Quantities vary by store.
Rough estimates are....
Wii 12-25 per store
PS3/60G 4-10 per store
PS3/20G 1-4 per store

I don't know if you would know, since I don't know which TRU you work at, but if at all possible, please try and find out if they will hand out some tickets to the people in line, so that we can avoid riots and stampedes. 12-25 per store, I might just skip this altogether then and wait on launch day. That few units per store means braving the triple threat line will be a necessity...and that doesn't sound pleasant to me, especially when the whole reason I'd pre-order in the first place would be to avoid braving a nasty line at all. We'll see...hopefully we'll hear more concrete details before Sunday.

I'm also in the same situation, I hope it's a ticket and first come first served set up. Otherwise if it's seperate lines I will be torn. If no tickets are going to be handed out that's bad news. I'm assuming tickets are a no brainer but I don't know, hopefully it wont be YMMV for tickets.

Who said there would be 12-25 units availible? If this were the case, that would be excellent news for those of us who actually want the system, to keep, not scalp. I'm still not sure how I'm gonna pull this off, as I'm having cold feet about camping out in front of Times Square. However, I guess the best thing to do would be to check the line, and when I did decide to join the line (assuming I'm not one of the first people on the line), see if there are more than 10 people in line waiting for a PS3 pre-order. If this were the case, I think the best thing to do for everyone, would be to seek another Toys 'R' Us, since there would be a high probability that I would get shafted by a paltry allocation.

Few more details to add....

There will be one line at stores for everything(Wii, PS3, TMX Elmo).

Sometime before the store opens the manager will come out and distribute tickets to those in line.

Each person is allowed to purchase one of each. i.e. one Wii, one PS3, and one TMX Elmo.

Finally, for general info purposes....TRU is preordering half of what there total launch allocation is. Therefore if your store is preordering 10 Wii's than they will receive 20 Wii's at launch. 10 for the preorders and 10 for those waiting in line at launch.

Hehe. Looks like he may not get to test his speculation out, if he was to get a PS3. Check this out, from ebay:

" Sony PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii Pre-Sales. These highly-anticipated video game consoles will be in extremely short supply during their initial launch. During the launch of the similarly-released Microsoft Xbox 360, we saw a high number of well-intentioned sellers unable to meet their pre-sale obligations to buyers due to restricted supply, as well as an increase in fraudulent listings for these items. To prevent similar problems with these latest releases, the following restrictions have been placed on pre-sales for the PS3 and the Wii:

* Only one of each console can be listed per eBay account prior to the launch of the console (PS3 is expected to be available on 11/17/06, Wii on 11/19/06).
* The seller must only accept payment through PayPal, and have at least 50 feedback with a 98% or greater positive rating so that they qualify for PayPal Buyer Protection.
* The pre-sale item must be listed in the 3, 5, 7 or 10-day formats, and cannot use Buy It Now.
* The listing must include a photo of your pre-order receipt in the description. "

So it sounds like they have separate preorders for the 20 or 60GB PS3 versions? I'd much rather have a 20GB one, as I don't need wireless, could add it later anyway, and that's the only real difference.

Are ALL Toy's R Us stores going to do tickets? Will they all let you get one of each? If I have to choose, I'd go with PS3 just because there's a much better chance I'll be able to get a Wii quickly anyway. I really, really hope they all do tickets so there's not some mad rush in the door where some jerk who just showed up shoves in and gets it in front of people waiting in line.

Also, I still haven't heard how early we should be there. I've never done this before (and really don't want to :-( ).

I guess I'll plan on getting there a few hours early and bring stuff to do.
Is this going to be dangerous? I mean do I need to worry about getting mugged or something? Obviously I want to bring my Nintendo DS and iPod and stuff like that but I'm a little scared :-(

You're not going to be mugged, but people will be assholes if you're not first in line. I was 8 in line in front of best buy, i became 15 after their "friends" came back.

I recommend trying to be first and writing out an order sheet, where it is clear who was there and when.

For the xbox360 LAUNCH i was out there at 6 pm the day before it was released. This is a pre order and I'm not sure how many people know about it, so you can probably get away with going sometime around 4-6 am.

7? I sincerely doubt that, my TRU is a pretty active/popular location.

Who knows, but I'd wager calling isn't going to get a very accurate tally based on that (unless I'm wrong and my store is getting shafted, LOL). Employees are not allowed to preorder PS3..it does not matter if they stand in line, which they can not because everyone has meetings Sunday morning. Employees can preorder the Wii. Yes you can preorder a PS3 and a Wii, but can't preorder 2 PS3s. All stores have tickets...Numbers will vary but our allocation changed in the past couple of weeks. Figure Wii preorders will be gone and rung up within 30 minutes of open...We will be preordering some games for both systems Sunday morning as well...No accessories as of right now...

I'm heading out now to the one in Rockaway, NJ. It's going to be raining all night tonight and all day tomorrow so I'm all decked out. I have one t-shirt on, a hoodie over that, and a waterproof giants jacket. Two pairs of jeans underneath as well as two pairs of socks. Plus the umbrella and obligatory Nintendo D.S. to pass the time (when I'm able to use it).

Picture included. Yeah, I'm a geek. Do something about it! I"m also taking my camera to take a few pictures when the line starts building up (if there is one at all).

I'd have to honestly say you're insane. In CT we're getting hurricane type weather (60 mph winds, power outages) tomorrow and into sunday.

You're gonna be waiting in line for more than 24 hours, in a massive storm, add one hour thanks to day light savings.

GL is all I gotta say.

Oops! I did it again.

Thanks for the info. Sucks that the Wii pre-orders won't be sticking to that original structure. :(

Anyway, are games going to likely be $5 per pre-order? I don't know if I'll have the cash on hand to pre-order ANY right now, but I might, so I guess I'll assume it's $5 per until I hear differently.

Some people get more utility out of games/owning new products then others; some people consider camping out worse than others.

Since it seems TRUs are only getting 1 to 2 60gb PS3s in... Dosen't The manager get one, and I am sure the other will go to some other empolyee or just not be there period. Waiting say 7+ hours, is just not worth the risk of being empty handed.

I don't know what to expect, honestly. Sometimes you can get some cool people in line (like i did last year for x360 at circuit city...best buy had so many assholes).

Are you guys getting hit by the huge storm coming in to the east coast tomorrow? That may deter people, so maybe 5 am wont be bad. If I was you, i'd swing by and check it out. But to be honest with you - the latest i'd go is 5.

If you're camping out tonight, you have no life.

Well, I don't know if I'd go as far as to say that: it's not that they don't have lives, it's just that they're passionate about getting something done and they see this as a means by which they can do it. Sacrificing a Friday night and Saturday hardly seems unreasonable, to me (if I knew how the hell they were going to handle having to take a dump or whatever).

That said, I've been thinking and I think three hours before launch is the earliest I'm going to justify doing for a pre-order, personally. I'll go then, and if the line is outrageous, I'll leave knowing I'll save my big waiting for the 18th. But my fingers will be crossed Sunday morning!

This is scary. I thought I was doing good by thinking of getting up a few hours before the store opened. I thought THAT was going a little nuts. But camping out starting Saturday...or FRIDAY?!?

I just wish I knew if it were even worth it to wake up early on Sunday and check things out. Seems like a waste of time and gas to get out there if there's a line.

This whole thing is nuts. Nintendo is supposed to have more Wiis out there by the end of the year than Microsoft has 360s in it's first year. It'll probably take some checking around, but SOMEONE should have them by December. And Playstation 3 maybe by March or April of next year. Plus bundles if you really want one. :(

Anyone else in central IL?

I'd like to think that, but someone said Gamespot ran this as a story-and somehow or other people found out about both the Gamestop preorder this year, and even what day Best BUy would be getting new 360's in last year.

I remember lines of people camping out in the cold hours before Best Buy closed about a month AFTER launch.

So I'm getting more and more scared this isn't going to work.

I originally had your idea-I was just going to show up a bit early and get them, but now I'm leaning towards the "it's hopeless" side of things.

Come on guys, get real. There isn't *that* huge of a demand for the PS3 and certainly not for the Wii. It isn't like anyone but our CAG selves know about this.

Think about it.

The big book hasn't gone out to the general public yet, and no one will see it until the Sunday paper, or Monday when they get the mail. And even if they do, how many of them do you think will go early to get one, I mean earlier than maybe 10 minutes. Get there and hour early and you should more than likely get one. Or show up right when doors open and hope they don't do tickets, and make a mad dash to the customer service desk.

My girlfriend and I plan on heading over to TRU after we get back from the Blackhawks game tomorrow night which should be around 11pm.

We are both pumped but it looks like its going to get to around 33 degrees which is pretty much asking to get sick. But since she really wants the Wii and I was hoping to pick up the PS3 this is probably our best chance since we both took work off on Sunday.

I really hope there is no line by the time I get there or I am going to be pissed.

Yeah, TRU preorders are one per household, since they take your name and number. Also, the manager at the TRU I plan to go through doesn't want any campers during the day. She said if anyone camps at closing time she's going to have all there cars towed. Anything after the all the TRU employees leave is fair game. I plan to drive by tonight to see if anyone is camping. I plan to just show early next morning since they plan to open early.

EDIT: They also said they plan on only get 2-3 60 gig versions the rest will be 20 gig versions. I think the total they hope to get is between 6-8.

Any differentiation in lines will be distinguished by the consumers themselves im assuming.

These aren't exactly organized. If you want it to be organized, you get a piece of paper, pen, and sign people up, hoping that they listen to you. That's what we did for circuit city and we all had a fun, good time.

Thought about trying to reserve a PS3, but between the price (which originally made me swear I wouldn't buy one), the lack of PS3-Only launch titles (where the hell is GT HD, The Getaway 3, and MGS4?), and the mess (4-6 per store, and lines a mile long... no thanks, guess I'm getting old)... I'll call shortly before closing tonight, and hopefully they'll know how many Wii's they're getting in, but as of now, I doubt that I'll wait in line.

According to the Amazon.com PS3 board there are already 20 people lined up outside the Times Square store. Can anyone confirm this?

The TRU in Union NJ (Morris Ave) are rejecting all inquiries about PS3. They told me that they will only receive 3 units and there are already 3 people waiting outside.

I'm gonna wait and call shortly before they close and find out if it's worth my time. I guess all TRU store hours are changing and they are oppening at 9:00 AM btw. Hopefully if I head out around midnight or 1 I should get in line all right

The more I think about it, the less I feel like I need a Playstation 3 now. I believe in the system for the most part (free online, quieter system, better all around pad, etc.), but I have TONS of games for my PC, PS2, GBA, DS, PSP, and (once I get a Wii) Gamecube. And there's plenty more I could pick up. Geez, I could kill two or three months just from Final Fantasy 3 and 12 by themselves. And then there's Gametap, Gamefly, and I could always check out World of Warcraft...

I was really hoping to get one of each at launch...but I think I'll survive!

Just called my TRU in Vegas and they said they had about 50 people outside most of which had been there since last night.

Oh and Puppy the PS3 is cool and all but don't say it has a better pad, because the PS3 pad sucks, it's a 10 year old design that's not ergonomic at all and removing the useful vibrating feature for some crappy tilting feature is pretty retarded (they probably just didn't want to pay immersion any royalties though). Oh and lets not forget the fact that you can't change the rechargeable battery pack in the controller.

Atlanta Folks:

5 people in Alpharetta, 3 people in Kennesaw. Tucker and Buckhead are NOT allowing lines and will call the cops for loitering. How do you all recommend trying to get in on the pre-orders in Tucker and Buckhead?

There has to be a point in time when it IS ok to line up. You just have to figure out when it is. You'll probably have to get kicked off once just to ask the guy first hand when his orders are to stop kicking people off.

I went there right when they opened to pick up some more buy 2 get 1 deals, and the cashier in the RZONE said that they would be handing out vouchers for the PS3, Wii, and Elmo sometime between 10-11pm tonight so those people will not have to sleep over night, they can just come back tomorrow to complete their preorders.

They let the bastards sit INSIDE the store.

GG to toysrus's pussy policies.

I disagree. In theory I'd like a change-it's not a decedent of a 10 year old pad, it's really the direct decedent of a 21 year old pad-from the NES.

But in practice, the Playstation 2 pad has become my favorite again. The more I use the 360 pad, the less I like it. The Playstation 2 pad works fine for first person shooters, but it also works for 2D games, for selecting stuff from menus in RPGs, etc. It's just an all around good pad-not as good as other pads for particular things, but it has no weaknesses and works well for any type of game. I also find it to be the most comfortable overall. The more I use the 360 pad (or used the Gamecube pad), the less ergonomic I found it.

The Playstation 3 pad looks like an improvement all around. Somewhat improved R/L 2 buttons, a slightly updated design. And of course the switch from rumble to analog/tilt control. IMO that's a trade off that's WELL worth it. I've never found rumble very useful-I can only think of two games off hand that really used it extremely well (Metal Gear Solid and Wario Ware Twisted). Ironically the Dual Shock pad had the best, most subtle rumble of the three designs.
But I'm not going to cry over it. The new control will actually improve games, make new things possible, versus just randomly buzzing whenever you're hit. I'm already excited to try it in a flight-sim type game, as that alone should feel a lot better than an analog stick. (I'd love a Pilot Wings on the Wii, or a sequal to that one Pilot Wings-esque game Sony made on the PS2.) There are going to be games on the Wii and PS3 that just won't be possible on the 360.

The one thing I agree about is the sealed controller. That's just stupid. I don't even WANT wireless. It's a huge pain on the 360 (I went out and bought a wired pad to avoid it), and I'm not interested in holding a radio transmitter next to my body for hours on end. I'm not even convinced it's safe. I'd REALLY like just a regular wired controller for the PS3 (I can sort of see with the Wii where it wouldn't be practical). (Though if they're going to include wireless controllers, giving them lithium batteries is cool.)

And yeah, I'm sure the switch is at least partially because of the immersion law suit, but even still, an entire new interface beats random buzzing any day.

Being a better pad does not nessecarily mean that it has to change astheticly. I too, however, also dislike the fact that they removed the rumble and added the til insteat (I don't belive in this motion control thing), and probably ture that they didn't want to pay for the license. Atleast the controller has trigger shoulders now.

Review sites seems to have mixed feeling, so you probably won't know until you actually try it out. Also, Sony have said that they will replace the controller for free if the battery fails, IIRC.

Anywho, Ceritos, CA suposedly has 20 people, 6 PS3s I belive.

So the TRU two miles from my house did pre-orders TODAY (livonia MI). So I got completely screwed as far as that one goes. So I went out to the Westland MI store and there were already about 10 people in line so I left and went to the Southfield MI store where there were another 10 people in line! So much for my chances of getting one of these pre-orders.

Actually that was wrongly reported by many sites. Sony said they would have a replacement program in place but they never said it would be free.

Since they can't sell a multitap for 35 bucks this time around I think they decided to seal the controller to compensate.

Southwest Houston People:

Sugar Land TRU @ 59, there were already 7 people waiting for 6 ps3 spots when I went there at 3 pm.

I asked the first person in line what time he got there and he said 11. Crazy people. I'm #1 at my EB and I got there at 1 hr 45 mins early, and I thought that was pushing it. I killed my time by watching heroes on my psp and playing pheonix wright. No one in line at tru had a ds or psp out, they must be bored.

Not really, but a guy can hope, right? Mainly, I just have my limits as to how much I want one. 9 hrs wait is long, but I can justify it. longer than that? No thanks.

Glendale, CA - More than 10 people already in line. The employee didn't now how many preorders they're going to hand out.

Burbank, CA - More than 10 people already in line. The employee said they're giving at least 7 preorders.

2 of those people are going to feel like real idiots after waiting 12+ hours for nothing. when the find out they won't be able to get one.

The thing with TRU is that on launch day, you will have to be at TRU waiting all over again in hopes they (and you) didn't get short changed. First come, first serve. AND they open at 10 am, like other stores. So they gives other peps a good chance at Best Buy and Circuit City which should get more systems in, indulge.

I also called Alhambra, Los Angeles, and Van Nuys. People are waiting outside and each store is only doing like 7 preorders or something around that number.

If you're not waiting in line right this moment, chances are, you're not getting a preorder from Toys R Us.

Mine had 4-60gb and 1-20gb PS3 and 10 Wii and there were about 10 people in line already at 2PM. There was one line for both and you could only preorder 1. $50 deposit for either sysyem.
