Well that was the lamest line ever! The Seattle crowd pulled their cars along the building to wait in line. No one standing outside, just sitting in their cars. And after most of them got out and stood in line there were soo many place holders it was crazy! What ever happened to waiting in the line. The losers were trying to sell their spaces and orders right there infront of the TRU employees. And to top it off all of the guys were loading up on 2 Elmo dolls each and all the parents with kids at the back of the line had to leave with nothing. All that was left for me was an Elmo doll which I let go to the next person...why...because while I like shopping for deals, I am not some loser scalper that takes pics of himself in the line pretending that he has a social life while all he really has is his mom's credit card, his moms and a bad case of virginity.
Lol. A PS3 preorder, a Wii Preorder and 2 elmos. Thats a 2000-2500 profit Ill gladly take so my Ps3 and WII that I actually wanna play in two weeks is free.

Additional I had to edit out the second item of the list from my above items (his mom...), but it refered to the incident in Alabama where a brother pulled a Oedipus Rex on his drunk trailer trash mother, but it had less to do with good deals, and it was hating a little too much, so sorry.
scalpers suck

You talking about the Bellevue one?
I got the Wii I wanted there. :)
I left to go play CTF from 11PM to 1:30 AM, but I had my spot held. (There were still under 20 when I got back anyway, so it was more of a social thing, than real spot saving)
It was cold and rainy, the car line really helped us through the night.

Hey I would gladly sell your mom for a good night of pleasure at the Naval docks to get a free PS3, but some things are just cheap and wrong. To be exact your mom is to cheap (it would take a half a year of forced overtime at your mom's rates to afford a PS3 even at with my 98% pimp'n rate since she does it for the protien), and it would be wrong to sell her for a PS3 when think of how many new types of STDs would be released to our men and women of the armed forces.

Do we really need this kind of garbage on our forums? What are we, 8 years old?

You don't have to live in a bad neighborhood to get your shit lifted.
Exactly. I grew up in the suburbs of Atlanta and I saw scarier shit there than I ever did downtown. Rich kids with too much time on their hands love to stir things up, even when they could just go out and buy the stuff.
And assuming you do subscribe to the "bad part of town," theory, do you think those people can't drive to where the money and/or stupid kids are?

Its obvious we DIDNT get jacked and thats all that matters so its all good. We know our area pretty well and if anything did happen we came prepared also.
Plus where that TRU is located, its part of a route cops patrol. After 10pm we saw squad cars pass by at least every hour.
Thanks all for your concern though lol

That's cool. And I'm sorry if I came off a little harsh initially. I think it's great that you were able to pull that off (both logistically and philosophically). Wish more places had lines like this. Then again, if they were all this fun, people would be lining up for the line. ;)

No offense taken at all. Just wanted to shed some light on the situation.:)
Haha yea if everyone had setups like this it would look like some type of gaming convention. People arguing over wall space haha. But its pretty crazy when you realize you're playing Guitar Hero on TRU's wall at 230am lol.

you dont ebay much if you think its a 2k profit.
A wii at most will generate a sale of about 500$, even less when people realize that they won't have to actually wait in line cause there will be plenty of Wiis. So you make a profit of about 1XX~ after tax and ebay/paypal fees.
the PS3 i can see topping out at 1.2k if you're lucky.
that's about 80$ fees from ebay/paypal. 60$ tax from buying the system so you're looking at another 500$. (this is at the most based off of looking at the xbox360 (i sold 3 of them on ebay within the first 3 days at about 900$)
the TMX elmo right now generates a profit of about 40$ .
so you're wrong.

In my experiences, the "bad" part of town is really the least likely place to get jacked unless you start something. People will leave you alone if you leave them alone.
My TRU wasn't that bad, but there were fights at Gamestop when they did their pre-order run.

i promise you PS3s will be going for more than $1200 before the end of december. hell 360s were going for over $1000-$1200 last year and they were still sending some units (very few but some) after the launch through christmas. sony is sending fewer units, they will have fewer shipments before christmas, and the sony playstation (as of now) is what people think of when they think of video games. if little johnny wants one from santa, there will be plenty of parents who aren't CAGs, have plenty of expendable income, and want to make that happen for johnny's christmas. ebay and craigs list are going to be their only options....

now i'm lauging at the people who waited overnight to preorder a WII
Yeah, that's the Nintendo World Store, by the way.
We'll see who's laughing come November 19th.
P.S. "WII"? Is that a console or an FPS genre?
EDIT: Thats a 2000-2500 profit Ill gladly take so my Ps3 and WII that I actually wanna play in two weeks is free.
Not only is that a borderline-delusionally optimistic profit projection, but good luck on getting another stab at a PS3 two weeks after launch. I think you meant two months. And oy vey, again with the "WII"!
EDIT P.S. BS: Legitimate PS3 eBay auctions taking place immediately post-launch (and good luck on not having your auctions ramsacked by vigilante deadbeat bidders...you're asking for it!) should end up with average winning bids in the ballpark of $1,500. When factoring in tax for your PS3 purchase, that's probably about an $850 difference right there. Then, the listing fees and eBay's cut. We're probably below $800 now. Sure, you can get a few bucks back with a shady 'S&H' price, but that might drive the bidding down, too. Again, that's assuming you get $1,500 for it. There might be so many consoles flooding the listings, that $1,200 is more likely to be the standard winning bid. Selling a PS3, Wii, and a couple Elmoes...probably netting you $1,000-$1,200. $1,500, TOPS.
Remember, the PS3 ain't the first console in the 'next-gen'. The PS2 was the only option for a good year back then. A lot of people are going to say "Fuck it" and get the 360 with some games (or the Wii, where applicable)...spoiled kids be damned. And rightfully so. Damned spoiled kids! No, I think people planning on paying for a luxury cruise with their PS3 profiteering are going to find that ship ain't leavin' the harbor.

You obviously are either lying or experience the worse possible bidding for your Xbox 360s.
I've followed the entire inflation on ebay for 360s, they're inbetween 1500~4000 on average, with an unbelievable peaking price at $12000 one time.

Jesus...do you have any idea how incredibly bogus almost all of those $2,000+ 360 bids were? Going off memory and what I followed via the 360 General Board threads on IGN that week, sane bidding was between $1,000-$2,000, the 'hump' of the bell-shaped curve around $1,400-$1,500. (EDIT: Anyone wanna back me up here? I even remember there being stories about people setting up new Buyer accounts specifically to fuck up auctions. Pretty wrong, but kinda neat to see.)
Again, people have a choice this time. The 360's presence (along with the Wii )will devalue the PS3's eBay selling power. Now whether that's a minuscule amount or a significant chunk, that's up for debate.

Oh, yeah, I'll really light a candle for you eBayers late this November! Or maybe I'll cue up the FFVII 'Victory Theme' everytime an auction gets FUBARed. Not sure.
By the way, is it politically incorrect to suggest that the much-less-expensive Wii will somehow ironically be significantly less popular in poorer areas of the U.S. than the PS3, while possibly the reverse in the affluent areas? If so, I don't care, I'm sayin' it anyway.

Yes you can. You can block specific bidders from bidding on your auctions more than once by adding them to your blocked bidders list, and you can cancel individual bids even while the auction is ongoing. You just have to manage the auction actively as it heads toward finish.

Wrong, you're only coming out $600-700+ on PS3 if you were to sell now. Don't forget ebay gets a nice $110+ of your money from fees. Paypal get a little chuck of change as well, around $25+. WII is like $100 profit, maybe less, with ridiculus ebay fees, less. I don't know about elmos, grown men selling kids dolls is kinda sad.

Yeah, you can block one out of their bazzlion names/fake accounts. Those bots can bid right at the last second too. :(

So you just cancel the obviously phony 'winning' bid right after the auction ends, making the highest 'legit' bid the winner.
