And where did you buy them from?
I spent:
Dreamcast: $100 (new in 2000) from friend
Playstation 2: $300 (launch PS2) bought from EBgames
Later this PS2 broke, so I got another. Then that broke and I got the slim PS2.
GameCube: $99 (Black GCN with Metroid Prime and Resident Evil 0 (all new) in March 2003) From Target
Xbox: $200 from Target
Nintendo DS (launch): $150 EBgames
This DS had 10 dead pixels so I sent it to Nintendo. Then I traded this in and bought the Electric Blue DS when it came out.
PSP: Free (got from a friend who works for Sony)

Yo ITDEFX, that Tower in Fair Lakes cleared out all video game stuff over a year ago unless they restocked at some point. Or is there another Tower around here with video game stock? Actually PMed ya as I'm not sure you'll recheck this thread and I'm pretty curious to know.

yea I rechecked this thread after you PM and I PM you back LOL.
Last game I bought from them was Eternal Darkness for the cube for like 8 bucks new :-P, back in summer 2004, then all there games were gone just like that. :-( When I asked the employee what happened to the games, he was like "oh we never sold video games here.." and yet I had a receipt dated a few weeks ago from that location..then POOF they came back in a new section.
Anyways I will watch that area for ya if you want, just PM me one what you want me to grab when the % off goes up and I will get it for ya and we will trade lol.

DC - $200 launch
PS2 - $300 1 year after launch, still kickin'
GC - June 2002 $150 with free Madden 2002
2nd DC - Mid 2003 $20 from friend. Old one is fine, just wanted a spare.
Xbox - Mid 2004 $150. I originally bought the Halo Special Edition Xbox, but Panzer Dragoon Orta and Gun Valkyrie had scrambled screens in 480p, so I returned it for another. It had the same problem, so I ended up getting a regular Xbox, which had the same problem!! I ended up getting an older new one that didn't have the problem. Now, the stupid Thomson drive is giving me problems.
DS Electric Blue - $130 winter 2005
DS Lite - $130 launch, traded in DS Phat for $70

The GCN costed $200 new or was it $150 which I had Smash Brothers for $50
Then afterwards each new game was like $50 including all new RE games and RE remake. Eternal Darkness new, GBA cable, PSX controller link, Wireless controller, and lots of other stuff.
I probably wasted over $600 on the GCN and could ahve saved $400 if I had waited. Never again.

Dreamcast: $199 - Launch day 9/9/99 at TRU. I'll never forget that day.
PS2: $299 - Launch day at Best Buy
Xbox: $299 - 1 day after launch at CompUSA
Gamecube: $150 - with Metroid Prime in 2003 at Best Buy
Xbox 360: $399 - about 6 months ago at Target
DS Lite: $129 - with Brain Age at Circuit City a few days after launch
Gamecube $100 + free rentals (Was a gift) Gamecrazy 2003
Those free rentals are huge at GC. I try to get my systems there for that reason. The ~$60 in rentals helps me justify the system purchase :D .
Some highlights:
Dreamcast - $50 (Target)
PS2 - Wedding Gift at launch
PSP - $160 (Dell)
DS Lite - $35 worth of trade-ins (during recent promotion) to Wherehouse got enough credit to buy it!

Dreamcast - bought used for about $40 when it was still alive. It's a black Sega Sports DC as well! :)
GameCube - bought at launch. Actually, I was working in a store back then, so I got it a couple days before launch, cheaper and with cheaper games. Very cool. Still like $189 though, but the $50 games were $37.50 new.
PS2 - waited until it was at $200. Was going to wait for $150, but EB had this great little promo where they'd give $10 for most non-sports games. Using that and a little ingenuity, got it for about $80 out of pocket.
DS - spent about $90 after store credits. Came with MP Hunters demo and Super Mario 64x4 for free.

Xbox 360 - $450, core /w hard drive, 2 extra controllers, HD cables, Test Drive Unlimited and Memory unit (CAG trade)
I guess i'm one of the few people who have had no problem with the PS2. Mine is like 3-4 years old and still going strong

DC- $150 new w/ free Resident Evil Code Veronica, holiday 2000 @ Toys R Us when offering free $50 DC game w/ purchase of system
PS2- $250 used at EB , Jan. 2002/ crapped out right after the two week warranty ended, Sony fixed it for free thankfully(will be the only time I buy a used Sony product).
PStwo- $130, April 2006, bought it the same day the price drop was announced since my old one was crapping out.
Gamecube- $80 used w/ 1 year warranty at EB in May 2006, bought it since I had a itching to play Sonic CD(Sonic Gems Collection), RE4 & F-Zero GX.
Xbox- $200 new at Gamestop, Dec. 2002. Bought it since I wanted to play Jet Set Radio Future and it came packed in with the system.
Strangely though, out of all the ones I bought years ago, the Xbox is the one that still works without no problems(the DC kept resetting after overheating, but fixed it). Which is weird after reading all the problems that have been mentioned(disc drives & HDD dying, controller ports fucked up).
