What in your opinion is better. GBA MICRO OR GBA SP. I really want to get a micro but I havent decided yet. Please let me know your opinion. Thanks

The SP is larger and I must admit I prefer it over the Micro.

But if you really want a Micro I have a sealed one I picked up at TRU a while back.

I have both. To me, the screen on the Micro is great (probably just because it is smaller and therefore sharper). BUT I find the SP much more comfortable to hold. I have fairly small hands, but holding the Micro is still somewhat uncomfortable. My hands are so close together that I can't find room for all my fingers without contorting a few of them. :) I just picked up a DS and like the spacing (wider) on it a lot. Much more comfortable, IMO.

I think overall the SP is better due to the bigger screen and the fact the larger size of the unit makes it easier to grasp. The screen is also protected when you fold it up. However, I personally want a Micro because it's so tiny you never have to think whether or not to take it with you everywhere you go.

Can the micro play GB/GBC games?

If I recall correctly, no.

SP SP SP.

Better design, more durable, bigger screen, compatible with GB/GBC games. Just make sure to get a backlit screen.

Micro.

You can take it ANYWHERE, just stick it in your pocket.

The new SP by far (labeled with the "BRIGHT SCREEN" on the box).

Calmshell design = selfprotecting, bigger screen, more compatibilty (can play GB and GBC games), and small enough to be in your pocket.

The SP2 is the best of the best in terms of the Gameboy Brand.

Actually, the screen of the Micro seems to be much more durable, and a lot less susceptible to scratches than the traditional GBA. Maybe even the GBA SP, but I wouldn't know since my systems usually stay in perfect condition.

Anyway, if I had to choose, I would say get the updated SP with the new backlit screen. The screen is bigger, and the SP can support the older GB/GBC games. And hell, it's much more comfortable to hold.

But really, now that the DS Lite is out, there isn't a valid reason to own either of them.

I have a new/sealed GBA SP (Graphite) w/ the new backlit/brighter screen. PM offer if interested (I own one and I'd highly recommend them).

I don't have the micro because I really like the SP. It is just easier to grab, although the DS gives a slightly better spacing but smaller screen.

From what I understand (although I might be mistaken), the faceplates double as a screen protector. So even if the screen does get ruined, you just pop in another one.

I love my red SP, if you have reg GB/GBC games, get the SP.

Yeah, you're absolutely correct. The only trouble is, they seem to only be sold at the Nintendo Store in NY. Not sure if they sell them on their store online, though.

And don't forget connectability with the GCN, though no one cared about that even when they were releasing new games for that feature.

I read two different things: Nintendo quietly discontinued the sale of faceplates due to the unexpectedly poor sales of the Micro here. The other is that Nintendo never officially sold them in the states to begin with. Either way, it's a no go.

I looked briefly to see if PlayAsia or NCSX carried import faceplates from Japan, but surprisingly, nothing. Not even out of stock inventory, neither store ever carried them.

I'm sure though someone out there carries imported or third party faceplates, though.

Nah, I didn't mean that literally--only a dumbass is going to put it in his pocket without protection! I use one of those knitted "socks", can't remember who makes it, but it came in a pack of three or four (all different colors), and is slightly bigger than the Micro itself.

Been using it that way for a few months now and my screen is perfectly fine.

Of course, I also make sure not to put car keys or anything like that in the same pocket, just to be safe.

I was thinking of getting a micro, but now that I know it can only play GBA games, I'm not so sure.

I like the backlit SP better than the Micro too, mainly because of the bigger screen and the fact that it will play my GameBoy Color games.

I just bought two replacement faceplates at the Nintendo World Store yesterday, and they are still listed on the Nintendo online store here (http://store.nintendo.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=10001&langId=-1&currency=USD&ignoreCrumbs=N&crumb1=%253CA%2BHREF%253D%2522javascript%253APassO n%2528%2527C%2527%252C%2B%2527CategoryDisplay%2527 %252C%2527359%2527%252C%2B%2527N%2527%2529%253B%25 22%253EGame%2BBoy%253C%252FA%253E&crumb1Ignore=&crumb2=%253CA%2BHREF%253D%2522javascript%253APassO n%2528%2527X%2527%252C%2B%2527ChooseView%2527%252C %2527%2527%252C%2B%2527%2527%2529%253B%2522%253EGa me%2BBoy%2BMicro%253C%252FA%253E&crumb2Ignore=&crumb3=%253CA%2BHREF%253D%2522javascript%253APassO n%2528%2527C%2527%252C%2B%2527CategoryDisplay%2527 %252C%252759214%2527%252C%2B%2527N%2527%2529%253B% 2522%253EParts%2B%2526%2BAccessories%253C%252FA%25 3E&crumb3Ignore=&translateFrom=%C8%C9%C7&translateTo=EEC&usrSearchText=&searchText=&selSrchType=&page=&view=&productId=92205&categoryId=59214&lastAction=ProductDisplay&orderTotal=null)

Multiplayer?
Eh, not that many people own GBAs anymore, if you're lucky enough to have some friends who have them... awesome. But you still have to buy the cables.

Everyone I know has moved onto wireless DS multiplayer, it's the future!
