I'm sure it's a typo, but it's worth a shot:

Hey, why the hell not? Here's hoping something good happens.

Edit: Somehow my order came out to $0.00. I credited me $4.51 in a "promotional certificate". Weird.

The same thing happened to me, and I realized that it was because I still hadn't used my $5 off promo coupon I got from the Platinum Evangelion Collection thing last year. I decided not to use my credit this time, though, 'cause I'm afraid they might not get it back to me after they inevitably kill my order.

Since the original price is so high and this is just about for free, then yeah, they more than likely wont honor the error.

However, with that said, it's not impossible. A while back Overstock.com had the ATL DVD listed at $0.00, and they actually shipped my order of ten.

I ordered one, yes just one, of these since it is a game that I'll be buying for my Wii anyway.

At any given time, despite our best efforts, a small number of the

Even if they don't offer a 'consolation' coupon in the email they're sending out, you might want to try sending a separate email to customer service, explaining that you bought the game it at the price advertised, it wasn't your error, this inconveniences you because now you have to find it elsewhere, and other stores do honor pricing mistakes. It won't hurt, either, to point out that you're a long-time customer (if that's the case). I find that Amazon usually won't offer any compensation off the bat, but will if you nudge them gently (and remind them of all the orders you've placed over the years) . . .

Great, so they can't so anything because it's in the "shipping process".

They violated their own policy! If an item is supposed to be higher in price, they can (at their discretion) contact me to change shipping details or CANCEL THE ORDER (NOT THE ITEM- THE ORDER). Of course, they only cancel the item. Liars!

officially canceled

djkunai
10-11-2006, 03:29 AM
Just emailed this to Amazon after the bullshit "nothing we can do during the shipping phase" phone call.

In regards to my item:

Amazon.com violated its own policy.

In my mispriced item notice it says: "If we discover that
an item's correct price is higher than our stated price, we will, at
our discretion, either contact you for instructions before shipping or
cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation."

I was not contacted about the item's status, NOR was my ordered cancelled. Instead the mispriced item was cancelled from the order, while the other item remained.

Since the item cancelled was a preordered item, the ship day was changed from 11/14/06 to 10/10/06. I am going to incur overdraft fees in my banking account, because Amazon.com illegally charged my account for an amount I DID NOT AGREE TO for only one item I DID NOT AGREE TO (there was supposed to be another item) on a date that I DID NOT AGREE TO.

This is bait-and-switch, and will be reported to the Better Business Bureau, and my attorney notified to take legal action against Amazon.com for violating the terms of original contract and its mispriced item policy.

Please reply immediately so we can reach a settlement about this issue that I am very, very upset with.

Seriously. They sent me the email "We'll either contact you about it or cancel the order" and then what do they do? Neither! They cancel one item (Trauma Center) and leave the other item (Phoenix Wright) on the order. So now, I'm being charged $35~ when I don't have the money ready in my account.

Of course, they said I can get a full refund after I get the item sent back to them, which is (of course) AFTER I get overdrafted.

Damnit Amazon.com you LIED.

Please tell me you are kidding. You really think Amazon was going to sell a game for 2 cents? Are you that fucking dumb?

Maybe I should have use the sarcasm tags since a lot of things go way over people's heads these days, but yes, I was kidding. And I don't think I'm that fucking dumb. Maybe I am? Who knows?

How are some of you getting charged for Phoenix Wright?

I bought Trauma Center 2nd Opinion and Phoenix Wright and put "ship together", so technically, if I don't get TC I shouldn't even be shipped Phoenix Wright. Either way, they're supposed to be sent out on Nov 14.

Instead of cancelling my whole order because of the price mistake (which is their policy) they cancel the one item with a price mistake, change the shipping date to today, and charge me over a month BEFORE the original agreed upon time.

Got this:
Thank you for writing to us at Amazon.com.

I am sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.

And, we sincerely regret the error that resulted in an incorrect
price being displayed for the " Trauma Center: Second Opinion ".

Because this item's correct price was higher than our stated price,
we made the decision to cancel this item. In accordance with our
posted policies on pricing, we were unable to offer this item for
the incorrectly posted price.

Our pricing policy is posted in the Help section and is accessible
through numerous other areas of our web site. You can read it here:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=468502

We realize that the cancellation of this item may have been
disappointing, but we want to make sure that your decision to make a
purchase with us is based on the most accurate information
possible.

Please note that the other items on this order are unaffected by
this cancellation. Once they have shipped, we'll send you an e-mail
message confirming the date, contents, and method of your shipment.

I have requested a refund of $4.49 to your credit card to reimburse
you for the shipping fees you were charged. This refund should go
through within the next 7-10 business days and will appear as a
credit on your next credit card billing statement.

You may view completed refunds by clicking the "Your Account" link
at the top of our web site, then clicking "Go!" next to "open and
recently shipped orders." Completed refunds will appear at the
bottom of an individual order's summary page.

Thanks again for letting us know how you feel about this issue. I
hope you will give us a chance to serve you again in the future.

Replied with this:
Amazon.com violated it's own policy. After admitting a pricing error, Amazon.com deleted only ONE item (the mispriced item) from my order.

I then received the email regarding the policy on mispriced items on Amazon.com that said:
"If an item's correct price is higher than our stated price, we will, at our discretion, either contact you for instructions before shipping or cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation."

AMAZON.COM DID NOT FOLLOW ITS OWN POLICY.

Amazon.com neither "contact[ed]... for instructions before shipping" nor did they "cancel [my] order and notify of such cancellation."

This is bait-and-switch: Amazon.com had the item for presale, but then claimed a pricing error. Amazon.com then sold me the remaing item (which is much higher than the cost of the item Amazon.com cancelled).

Amazon.com has committed an act of bait-and-switch, and failure to follow its own policies that are viewed by its customers.

Now, my bank account is going to incur overdraft fees because of Amazon.com's use of bait-and-switch and failure to comply with its policies.

Simply claiming "we can't do anything because your order is in the shipping phase" is a terrible business practice, and coupled with the illegal act of bait-and-switch, I sincerely hope Amazon.com goes through EVERY order involving the presale of "Trauma Center: 2nd Opinion" at $.02 to make sure that its customers are aware that they are being charged without their knowledge over a month in advance.

This matter is STILL UNRESOLVED, and it will remain that way unless my bank account is not charged, my entire order, not just one "mispriced" item, is canceled, and every person who preordered the "mispriced" item and was deceived by Amazon.com purposely ignoring its own policies is notified and their arguments settled accordingly.

Please respond.

I really think you're blowing this out of proportion. Amazon.com made a mistake, you knew they were and tried to take advantage of it like a bunch of other people did. You went once step further by ordering an extra item, which I'm assuming you really didn't want since you are raising such a huge fuss about it, and now you're mad because Amazon actually sent you an item you ordered.

I can completely understand you throwing a temper tantrum if Amazon.com didn't refund your money. The fact is that they are going to refund your money, shipping costs and all. Save your whining until something actually happens.

I really don't see that as being illegal. Just unclear. When they say If an item's correct price is higher than our stated price, we will, at our discretion, either contact you for instructions before shipping or cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation."

They are referring to an order placed that involves 1 item. They just don't explain how it works if you have multiple items in an order. In this case they followed their policy and cancelled the item that was mistakenly priced and didnt modify your order.

I mean on the flip side what if you had a rare item in your order and a price mistake item and because of the price mistake your entire order got deleted and you werent able to get the other item you ordered?

This is bait-and-switch: Amazon.com had the item for presale, but then claimed a pricing error. Amazon.com then sold me the remaing item (which is much higher than the cost of the item Amazon.com cancelled).

FYI That is NOT bait and switch since you chose to add it yourself. Amazon didnt substitute any items. They are simply mailing out the other item you ordered.

Agreed, it should just be assumed that deals like these will be canceled.

Oh FYI just send customer support an email saying how upset you are over the way you were treated, bla bla bla. Most of the time you will get a $5 credit to account. I just got one today over the FFXII CE Guide.
