Sadly, my TRu in Longview Texas had CRAP for selection right now. Couldn't believe how bad it was. The PSP section was bigger than the Cube Section, The DS section, or the Xbox section.

No Devil Summoner, no Rocket Slime, no tales of the abyss, neither of the summon nights, no contact, no valkyrie profile(PS2). Basically, had I not been getting a game for my friend, I would have had to settle for a third game.

Okami was pretty far down on my list considering i fully expect it to be GH down the road.

Still, I love this deal.

So my Toys R Us had 7 copies of Dawn of Sorrow a couple weeks ago. Figured I'd go in and buy three and sell off the other two since there aren't any other DS games I'm wanting at the moment. Went in, they were all gone. I'm thinkin they were just display cases though, they were behind glass and I remember them not looking shrink wrapped.

Oh well, got some free papa johns pizza from the employees though since they had some because they had to stay late for Halloween hours.

Well I talked to the clerk at the store I went to and from what he said there may be a small number of stores that do have it, it's really a matter of whether the buyer for the store has any sense. :)

Nope. The original transaction ID is tagged to every gift receipt meaning they'll know that it was a B2G1F deal. Just because it's a gift receipt doesn't mean they don't keep track of the price of each game.

So what happens if it's genuinely a gift and they want to take it back? Does the clerk pull it up and with furrowed brow say "Sorry sir but we're not going to be able to give you full value for this. You see, your friend is a jerk who instead of spending real money on a present for you bought two games for himself and then got this copie of Barbie Horse Adventure on the Moon for free and stuck you with it. If you have any further concerns or needs please feel free to take it up with your knee in his junk."

Anyway I grabbed Mario Hoops, Mario vs DK 2, and Megaman ZX since I needed a third $30 game and wanted to wait on Rocket Slime since they didn't have anything else $35 just about. If they don't have anything better for $35 I may wait and just get it free with Lego SW2 and Ultimate Alliance. Going to the store closer to home tommarow anyway. Probably going to grab Cooking Mama, Kirby Canvas Curse, and Age of Empires (since it's supposed to drop to $20) as well.

Disapointed Justice Leauge isn't faring too well in early reviews though, I was looking forward to that one much more then MUA.

I would find out when shipments come in. The store near me (Harrisburg, PA) has very helpful employees and told me that they get shipments of games every Wednesday. Not sure if this is every store or just mine.

I think the music game stuff is VERY YMMV; I tried a couple years ago to get Donkey Konga and some Eyetoy thing (can't remember) and they basically said anything like that is an "accessory" and not a "game", even if it IS the game. (I.e., you need the accessory for the game).

It might depend on the clerk or the specific title; maybe some games are in the system as eligible and some aren't. And every year seems a little different with this sale.

I was able to buy 3 copies of Donkey Konga 2. They rang up with the discount and everything was just $40 + tax. Used them for trade in at local game stores.

FYI, if the item is red tagged my Toys R Us was offering an additional 20% in addition to the Buy Two Get One free deal. These were printed flyers, so I am pretty sure this would be nationwide. An associate also told me that an item that ends in an 8 is probably under the 20% off rule.

This applied to Psychonauts Xbox(10.48-2.10) and Suikoden Tactics(14.98-3.00) and then another copy of Psychonauts-Xbox for free. Three games for $20. Good deal.

One other item of interest. I was able to mix games from different systems with no problem as seen above. I just needed groups of 3.

Picked up Valkyrie Profile 2, Okami and Suikoden V. My Toys R Us was actually having a customer appreciation day where they stayed open late from 7:00-9:00 and gave out bite sized skittles and took drawings for 10$ gift cards every 30 minutes. As it turned out nobody else showed up for the event and I of course won a gift card, haha. I should've won two but I think one of the employee's boyfriends "won" the other one. Either way combined with the 10% offf which I used for VP2 it turned out to be 26$ dollars a game after tax...pretty good 8-) I'm also 99% sure I saw Bully there as well

I had a different experience from some of you guys regarding the red tag clearance games. Makai Kingdom at my TRU did NOT ring up with the 20% off automatically (it rang up as $20.98) and they would not accept the 20% off coupon as they claimed it did not have a red tag. Well, NONE of the clearance games had red tags on them, probably because they removed them before the B2G1F sale started. Cute. Very cute.

I totally got away big today. One of the world leaders, who isn't very bright, ended up double-applying the 20% discount. So I ended up getting RE4 and two copies of Harvest Moon for $12.14 or something to the like, including tax!

I took those, and a few crappy dvd's to EB and Gamestop (to split up the Harvest Moons) and ended up with about $43 in credit, after 10% More bonus. Picked up Kameo, Tomb Raider Legend and Need for Speed Most Wanted (Three games I've been wanting to pick up) and it only cost me an extra $6.01 out of pocket. So I ended up getting 3 XB360 games for under $20 + plus a few old dvd's I hadn't watched in years.

Normally I wouldn't flip titles like this, but with both B2G1 deals coinciding, I couldn't resist.

The three games I bought cost 29.99, 19.99 and 20.98 (red tag). The free game was the 19.99 one, then the automatic 20% discount for the red tag game kicked in so I paid 29.99 + 16.78. So, instead of $50 it only cost $47 (before tax).

I wasn't expecting it, but I saved $3!! Break out the champagne!

It's official release for all stores were the 19th or something. It was on TRUs website, but then it was taken down, along with Touch Detective and MegaMan ZX, so it is questionable if it is at any TRUs.

I wouldn't expect Contact to be absolutely everywhere until the end of the month. I preordered mine from Amazon, but they're not shipping it until Tuesday. :(

Like i've said multiple times, apparently TRU gets its game shipments once a week and Contact came out AFTER most TRU's got last weeks shipment.

Most stores havent gotten this weeks shipment in yet which SHOULD include Contact.

The three games I bought cost 29.99, 19.99 and 20.98 (red tag). The free game was the 19.99 one, then the automatic 20% discount for the red tag game kicked in so I paid 29.99 + 16.78. So, instead of $50 it only cost $47 (before tax).

I wasn't expecting it, but I saved $3!! Break out the champagne!

There are some damn good games available but I think most people already have a fair share of em. I wouldnt get games like Valkyrie Profile 2 since I know it will be $20 since its square-enix.Don't forget though you can always ebay your 3rd free game to make back some of your money.

Thanks for confirming that a GLITCH STILL WORKS (kinda). It seems like the system will ring up the two most expensive games BEFORE the 20% red tag clearance takes effect. I only spotted $20.98 and $13.98 "red-tagged" games at my TRU so the savings are minimal. Oh well...

I guess the ones by me, Roseville and Madison Heights, were bought by someone who had owned some BB's and in the last week at least the games section has been converted into something aweful similar. It's really bad too, it's a mess trying to find things since it's that 8 titles stacked on top of each other and who knows what's where, signs be damned nothing was with its sign, and you really have to go through everything. Really don't like it.

It should be automatic no matter if it's red tagged or not except as it has been reported, a few select games aren't taking the automatic 20% off.

I went to the Mission Viejo TRU, getting there slightly before 10am. I picked up PS2 Okami, PSP Valkyrie Profile, and DS Rocket Slime.

Within 10 minutes, it looked like all the Okamis had been claimed, though there may be more in the case behind the register. Definitely the last Rocket Slime.

After the TRU settlement coupon and gift cards, it worked out to $10 per game.

My store hadn't received Contact & Bully by 10/22. We did receive a card divider for Contact and the dummy displays for Bully though. I ended up trading Okami for Bully, next door at BB. Apparently, you're allowed 3 returns per year without receipts there. I didn't wanna wait and see if TRU would get it because I figured Jack Thompson had gotten to corperate. After GTA:SA got pulled for the rating change, we didn't get the game back in until it became a GH.

Nice picks. LSWII is addictive as crack. The first one was bad enough, but this one has so much more to unlock and so many more bonus levels. I'm at about 50% now and it feels like I have so much more to do. Mario Kart is similarly addictive until you unlock all the tracks, racers, and karts, which should take you awhile. Best MK yet.

Too bad games are not delivered on the truck with all the other toys. So her information is false.

I work Rzone at the San Rafael store, and all video games are shipped to us in the morning through DHL, FedEx and UPS. The only thing that comes on the trucks is large amounts of accessories such as controllers, systems and such.

The reason why a lot of us at our particular TRU store have thought we might not be getting Bully is because of how big a company like Rockstar is. It is common for us to get Atlus and NIS stuff later than release date, but with Rockstar we have ALWAYS gotten it the same week it ships.

According to the OP, games bought through this promotion can only be exchanged for games released prior to the end of the promotion, so, no, you can't exchange them later for games that haven't been released yet.

I have only played a handful as I have been working on finishing games for older consoles and translated emulations of older games unreleased in the US. I don't buy games at launch as $40 to $50 is too much and am in no hurry to play em. I only buy new games when cheap for both economic and practical reasons. If you are not going to play a game soon, best not to buy it at full price. It will probably be several years until I get a PS3 (as the price is insane) and have no interest in 360, thus my PS2 games shall tide me over.

They had display cases for Marvel UA, the new Shin Megami game, and I think I may have saw one for Phantasy Star Universe as well, but the clerk said those wont be up for sale till Thursday. meh

I thought Wednsday is when stores are supposed to have new games for sale. And the new ShinMegami game has been out for a bit at Gamestop and EB I believe.

But I have to work Thursday, meh. I may be able to get there right as it opens, hurry and grab the games and leave for work though.

Ask the r-zone emloyees what the return policy is since the games will be gifts. I was told by mine that I have 45 days to return the games unopened to swap out for another game. The free one would not get anyone any store credit but it could be swapped out for another game. This may be ymmv but just call the store and ask for yourself in case it is ymmv.

Picked up Marvel for 360 today, they had just gotten it in last night and the guy had to get it from the back. No other new games yet. I have my doubts that they're going to ever get Justice League for the Xbox... that system seems to be dead in their store.

So picked up Marvel, NBA2K, and Enchanted Arms. Didn't really want Enchanted Arms, but they didn't have Splinter Cell and the guy told me I could exchange it for a different game within 45 days.

Then I saw Cooking Mama and went on a search for 20 dollar games... luckily, I had the guy price scan Age of Empires (DS) and it was already price dropped to $20 in their computer (someone had asked about this earlier in the thread). Picked up these along with Big Brain Academy. And the entire Mojo Wave of marvel legends, to go with my new game... :)

I would reccommend New Super Mario Brothers for sure, MKDS was one of the worst games IMO. As for anyone looking for Phoenix Wright just for the sale-- it is definently worth full price.
Also, going to TRU today,my mom had called and managed to reserve Marvel, Dead Rising and Saints Row. The person also had said there was no Clubhouse Games, MegaMan ZX, or Contact:roll: . (Well no surprise on Contact)
