I don't know if this is old news, but I was looking at the FYE pre-release list and it shows RE4 GH as 11/16. I wonder if I can get a non-GH label version before that.

That's what I'm wondering. If you check Capcom's site in japan, it's already a GH there(and I think in europe too). So it's time the US version became a GH.

About damn time, I've been waiting forever for it to become a greatest hit (forever=almost a year). :D
I always wanted the superior PS2 version over the 'Cube one.

On topic, I just posted my collectors edition so this is good timing. Can pick up the regular version cheap now and finish it off.
It really does look like ass compared to the cube one, though. Less ganados in many areas too. Controls are arguably better, based on your controller preference.

I think most people agree on this. While it loses in graphical beauty, the PS2 wins in the extras department, however trivial they might be considered (personally I always enjoy cutscene viewers without having to replay the game). The PS2 version also has anamorphic widescreen.

You should be able to when a game goes GH gamestop/eb should have non-gh copies drop to $20. Just go to one and ask if thay have a non-GH for $20.

I'll agree that the extras are better on PS2. Comes from fan feedback, though

Saw the reds at GS two weeks ago. Too bad I got lazy and missed out on the Best Buy original supply. Probably all smacked by now.
