Is there a reasoning behind Ocelot acting so childish and strange? The whole making Ocelot noises to pistol finger pointing. Whenever I see him, my mind just sort of goes blank.

And while we are on the subject of MGS3, why does Kojima make fun of Raiden by making him....you know, Brokeback Mountain-ish. Didn't the European and Japanese fans like Raiden? And I never got the part where Volgin grabs Snake's...um, snake? Is Volgin and Raiden, you know, sway that way? And what the hell is Kuwabara?!

Spoilers are ok

Ocelot has always been like that throughout MGS. You've never noticed his show-offish behavior with his revolver twirling and grand standing before? This is the same thing, just more magnified because he's younger and probably more naive.

That's not Raiden, it's Raikov. There's no relation between the two. Raiden's too young in MGS2 to be in MGS3.

1. Ocelot has always been known for his showmanship; he's just young and arrogant here.

2. Kojima was aware of the criticisms about Raiden, and probably thought it was funny to mess with that. Even if Japan and Europe accepted him, there's still a lot of fans that would enjoy the joke.

3. The grab was a reference to MGS2, as well as...

4. Yes, Volgin and Raikov are...involved. Another weird Kojima joke.

5. "Kuwabara" is something Japanese children say during a thunderstorm, to supposedly ward off the lightning.

everyone's pretty much answered it but

Ocelot's like...20? in MGS3. Hence the whole "showing off but clearly in need of Snake's assistance" thing. he's just cocky.

the Raiden/Raikov thing is just comic relief.

that "cat meow/snarl" thing ocelot does in MGS3 is probably the gayest thing i've ever seen in a game, moreso than volgin grabbing raikov's crotch repeatedly.

Yeah but that's to call the Ocelot unit at least. I'm not sure how a person could actually make that sound though.

agreed. how could anyone take that seriously?

it's right up there with the animal sounds that the metal gears make. that MGS4 trailer was awesome...but the bull noises are just so strange.

I think I remember reading somewhere (Probably Wikipedia) that Kuwabara is similiar to us saying "Knock on wood."
