play FFX first or else star ocean will make no sence to you, and dark cloud 2 has spoilers to Shadow hearts so play shadow hearts before dark cloud 2.
Save time by hooking up several TV's and PS2's and play all the games at once. Works great. Or just randomly pick them. That should work too.

My original theory involving FFX/FFX-2, which still up in the air, trade in both of those games along with the use of my remaining $21 store credit in order to purchase NBA 2k7 and NHL 2k7.

FFX/FFX-2 (although X-2 isn't as good, best you play it after X)
Star Ocean TTEOT (IMO, one of the best games this generation. I absolutely loved every bit of what I played)
SMT Nocturne
Dark Cloud 2
Shadow Hearts
Parasite Eve 1/2

You'll most likely play Parasite Eve 2 right after 1, but be prepared to be disappointed. PE (1) was very good (don't waste time in the Chrysler Building ending/replay... it's annoying and not really worth it unless you're a completist and have to do everything and see every ending) but it's successor was not.
I'd suggest lining Dark Cloud 2 up after PE2 so you'll go from disappointing to a much more enjoyable game experience.

Shadow Hearts is better than the rest of the list combined. Perhaps you should leave it for last because the rest of the games will suck in comparison if you play them afterwards

I was reminded that Parasite Eve series isn't a true RPG, its more like a survival horror game with RPG elements. Also I am really not sure about playing FFX again and play Nocturne in general due to its being a hardcore RPG.

Finally, a ray of light in this discussion.
Shadow Hearts, and its sequal, is the best RPG experience you can find this gen, perhaps save FFXII, which so far seems to be a huge upgrade over FFX, which was incredibly disappointing.

Dark Cloud 2 is my fave out of those, followed by FFX. X-2 honestly isn't really worth your time, so play at last, when ur scraping the bottom of the barrel.
