View Full Version : Would you go to the World Series?

Well... from the looks of it tickets to a World Series game here in Detroit, seem to range from $90 (really bad seats) to $250, really good seats, with very little room in-between (bleachers are running $175, most other seats $225).

Now, I'm in San Diego until the 27th of October here, so I can't go to games 1 or 2. Game 6 & 7 of course, are only if necessary. Thus my questions are as follows:

1. Do you get a refund for tickets purchased for games that never take place?
2. Would you get tickets for game 6 or game 7?

I actually have a job that pays me decent now, so the money isn't really a question. I'd like to take my dad to one of these games (I'm leaning towards game 6, and hoping that there is a game 6). I think that'd be one of those experiences you can't really put a price on, but I don't want to just toss the money away if you can't get a refund on games that aren't played...

I'm sure you can get a refund. My Super Bowl Tix were $550 a piece. :)

Did you take your old man?

By the way, your custom title sucks ;) ... er rather doesn't, does it?

Well technically we were 'treated', but yes, I went with my dad. He even paid for the plane tickets and hotel room! :P Glad you like my title ;)

Those seem like pretty cheap ticket prices. I guess they figured no one cares about the fucking Tigers.

I would only spend that kind of money to see the Cubs or Red Sox at home in the World Series.

I say game 6 just because it's more likely to take place.

I can not guarentee how it is, but it used to be if the game did not take place you got a refund.
I am guessing you could get a refund pretty easily, and I would take the chance if you like baseball.

Yes, they will refund the money if the game is not required.

Ben there for Game 7 NLCS in 2003.
Sucked that I got to use the tickets.

Any chance of waiting out the 1st inning or two and then picking up a couple leftover tickets for cheapish from a scalper? This works great for most sporting events, but not sure it holds for major things like the WS.

You're lucky for only $250. My Sox tickets were $528 for decent seats. I say get them for just in case.

I'd love to go, but I don't know if I can swing $500 on a ball game. Now, if I knew that the Tigers wouldn't make it back for another 22 years, this might be an easier decision.

Fuck the World Series. I'd love to see the Cubs at Wrigley, period! If I could see them from the bleachers, that'd be even sweeter. :D

Horsey, I'd say yes if the money isn't a problem. Getting to see a World Series with your father is a priceless memory.

I would pay that much for this World Series if, no, WHEN, the Cardinals get in. But I live in New Jersey so that would be a more expensive trip for me.

Lemme just say, championships (Super Bowl in my case) are the most amazing sporting events. Not many times in your life will you have this opportunity.
