I noticed both games are going for $15 at Best Buy. I was curious to hear what my fellow CAGs have to say about the subject...

If you like Sudoku (or however you spell it) buy Brain Age. You won't be disappointed there. I've been playing BA since it launched, daily, just to do the training. The only problem is that the game gets stale after so long. You "learn" the same things over and over and it doesn't become challenging after a while.
Big Brain has kept me busy as well. I play this daily, but have reached a point where I'm close to "beating" it. I've gotten platinum medals in a lot of the training exercises and am ranked B+. Of the two titles, this is definitely the most challenging one (based on the training exercises alone).
Brain Age will actually help your memorization skills, as well as minor math skills (read: multiplication and triangle math). Big Brain seems more "showy".
Big Brain is very shallow in the single player department though. You basically have a test you can take that challenges you in all 5 skills, or you have a practice mode, which you can take any of the challenges when you want. The goal is to collect medals.
Overall, I still feel like they are both worth $15. That's what I paid and I've easily gotten that out of them. If you love Sudoku, then you must buy Brain Age however.

I never tried Sudoku before but I am willing to give it a shot. I thought there was another DS Sudoku game though....is that worse than this game?

It's not really good enough to be justified as it's own game. Most people like Brain Age's sudoku much more then Sudoku Gridmaster simply because you can write in the numbers rather then tap them in. I like Gridmaster a bit more then Brain Age's sudoku simply because I hate the handwriting detection in Brain Age.

I like Academy better overall. Age got boring after a couple of weeks...

God yes. My girlfriend bought Sudoku Gridmaster at CC back when it was onsale for $10. She plays the Sudoku on BA and told me that Gridmaster sucked. She honestly wanted her money back on it. She's not a gamer, but it was completely terrible.
My pick is Brain Age. It unlocks games as you play and that kept me coming back to it nearly every day until everything was unlocked. The sudoku is also great. Once everything was unlocked I quickly lost interest, but I got a whole lot of play time out of it before that.
Big Brain Academy has everything unlocked from the start and I've just kind of poked around with it. I probably haven't even played every game in the thing. But then I played the crap out of Age before buying Academy so maybe I was just burnt out of the edutaining mini game thing.
Keep in mind that with a GGC you can get either for $15 at BB at any time.

Both are quite equal on the disposable side of things.

Both are very good and fun "games", but I like Big Brain more because the puzzles are more logic based and its a lot better looking with a distinct art style and lots and lots of colors that Brain Age doesnt have.

Do both or either games have more than 1 save file?

I chose Brain Age as well and after playing for a week I'm a little dissapointed. The games are getting repetitive fast (I have played every day only only unlocked 2 new games not counting variants like multiplication x 100 instead of x 20) and it says the Brain Age check is a random 3 games but I keep getting the 3 same games every time. Sudoku is fun (never played it before). I only paid about $12 for it ($15 at BB and used Best Buy Bucks which cost me approximately $0.80 for each $1.00) so I think I'll get $12 worth of fun out of the game but I was expecting more variety.
