I wanted to comment on this too. Sure, it's nice for someone to get the cheats without time by paying, but then what's the point of the game? Without a goal to get the unlockables at the conclusion, you've already gotten everything. Sure, the same could be said for all codes, paid and non, but at least you had to look for them, back in the day. :/

loved this episode of the podcast, just a quick opinion on gears of war...I think the reason that Microsoft is not going to release gears of war is because of the potential turn-off that the demo might bring. The hype for the game is already as high as I have ever seen a game get without a playable demo out, without it being a sequel. if the demo sucks...boy Microsoft would shoot themselves in the foot, because as you said they are putting their eggs all in one basket. I think the game will sell great alone, and if it's great the word of mouth afterwards will sell some consoles on top of that.

Great show! As someone who has, so far, managed to avoid the MMORPG bug (partly because I have a life and partly because my computer is too shitty to run them anyway), it was interesting to hear Wombat's impressions. I liked the whole virtual altruism bit.

Cheapy with a gun -- even a BB gun -- scares the Hell out of me. Was I the only one who got tense when he was fiddling with it during the show? He kept assuring us it wasn't loaded, but given his misfires and inability to manage the safety, I was totally waiting to hear him cry out in pain. Which of course would have been Wombat's cue to chide, "You shot your eye out!"

Kinda sucks that Wombat went to Digital Life and didn't get to play the Wii. I'm really looking forward to hearing reactions from you guys when you finally get to play it.

I did WoW until I got a mount, and since that was my main goal, I ended up letting my sub expire. I might get back into it with Burning Crusade (thanks to the CE pre-order heads up @amazon), though.

Well, I'm definitely waiting for Guitar Hero II for 360 based on Wombat's advice. Online multiplayer and dl'able songs are too cool.

I used to have an airsoft gun back in my college days. It was a lame ten dollar spring loaded one that shot one pellet at a time. Still, it was fun shooting my girlfriend in leg with it when she gave me "sass." :D

Nice show once again. I think that this particular one was very informative and although I don' t care much for Robocop, I think that gun's pretty cool.
By the way cheapyD, I'm interested in knowing the # of downloaders for the last show. That plus the lack of price drawing was what I thought was missing.

Great episode overall, but I didnt much care for cheapys comment that the Wii was just that "other" system in the console wars, maybe you havent done alot of research on the Wii but Nintendos working very hard to position themselves and have control of the market again.

If we were talking about the Gamecube I would probably agree with you, the target audience for that particular system very rarely went above the preteen range. but the Wii is going to have 22 games at launch, and many titles that should appeal to the hardcore gamer. I'm not trying to call you out on something you probably didnt mean it as a knock on the Wii but I do think it would be fair to give the Wii some air time.

A week ago I would have pretty much agreed with this line of thinking. However, after waiting in line for over 3 hours at EB for a Wii preorder and talking to the "hardcore gamers" in line there (many of whom classified themselves as Sony and Microsoft devotees up until now and several of whom had never owned a Nintendo system before), I'm inclined to disagree. Now certainly a lot of these guys fall into the "Wii60" or "PSWii" camp, but if the Wii is the baseline and the OTHER system is the variable, Nintendo wins, no matter how you measure it. Add to that the non-traditional audience Nintendo is targeting, who would be perfectly content to own a Wii and nothing else, and its easy to see how they could become the dominant player in the marketplace.

I'm assuming you've seen these, but in case you haven't, check out www.save-vegas.com (http://www.save-vegas.com) to see some of the creepiest marketing videos I've ever seen--not work safe, by the way. They're fantastic. I first saw them Friday night at like 2 a.m. (when I was already a little punchy) and they scared the Jesus out of me.

With regard to the 1080p show Major Nelson foisted on us Sunday--I was slightly less satisfied. I thought it was a complete snowjob--like many of Major's "explanations." I won't paste my whole 1080p 360 rant here, but if you're bored enough to read it, you can do so here:

Clubhouse Games is great, I highly recommend it. There are certainly a good number of crap filler games, but there are plenty to enjoy over Wi-Fi.

And it does have a great pictochat-esque functionality. Game wouldn't be half as fun without it.

I've listened since the beginning but have never commented on the CAGCast. But great show as always! I'm rarely disappointed in your efforts, and appreciate you entertaining me during my morning commute.

That said, I think BOTH of you need to be more aware of cutting each other off. Maybe it's a time thing, maybe you think it's getting boring but occassionaly I'd like to hear a little bit more about a topic and one of you (I actually notice it more from Cheapy than Wombat) jumps in with an "ok" or "very nice. Moving on!"

I understand it needs to keep moving but the back-and-forth is the main appeal of the show. Honestly, I can get the news anywhere. So if you do one less news item but spend a few minutes telling an amusing story or talking about an interesting topic, that's time well spent.

That aside, great show as always guys!

Considering you're a CAG and probably not into airsoft to start out with, go with the cheap spring-operated ones. Gas models (at least, of other guns) usually run $100+.

Good show--I think the airsoft sounded pretty cool. I think it should be used in the podcast much like a judge's gavel--when you need to get back on track, shoot 'em up!
