Not the best deal in the world now that the system has dropped, but not bad if you are in the market for a Micro. TRU online has a value pack for the Micro. Add a Micro (Silver or Black) to your cart then add value pack items. Once items are added the price of the Micro drops from $69.99 to $19.99. There are 4 items to add:

Sleeve: $9.99
Pac-Man Collection: $14.99
Namco Museum: $14.99
Over the Hedge: $29.99

This may be a glitch but after I added the first three the discount was applied, making the total $59.96 plus $4.84 shipping.

I tried different combos and it looks like you need 3 of the 4 items to get the discount to apply.

The Micro is the item you're having the discount applied to, and you're not returning it. The other items are full price, so they're the items you're returning. In theory, you should be able to return the other items besides the Micro and get full store credit for them.

And the real scary part:

This return situation is so YMMV it's disturbing.

I took advantage of a similar glitch and managed to return the game in store for store credit.

Online purchases at TRU can only be returned in store for credit. If you get a person who doesn't know much about video games you should be fine getting store credit and taking advantge of B2G1, otherwise it migth be tough.

And if too many people order, which I assume they already have, TRU will probably not honor the glitch...

Got through to customer service.

Found out:

A. They are completely seperate from B&M, they have different warehouses/inventory. No crossover, no fulfilling online orders from B&M stock or instore pickup.

B. They are completely sold out of Micros, and have pulled them off the website. Supposedly(and this could be a made up number)they are expecting more Micro units from Nintendo in two weeks

C. I was promised that if I made a Micro order before it was pulled from the site, my order will be filled. Eventually.


Does anyone remember a really old commercial featuring a kid happily swinging, clutching a piece of paper, and saying "You're my favorite raincheck!" Hopefully my Micro arrives in time for Christmas.

Yeah, I got fucken lucky and 2/3 of the sleeves were OOS! Only OOS items can be cancelled for "cash refund" (actually they don't charge you until items ships), any in-stock items must be returned to B&M for store credit.

Now I only need a similar deal for the new backlit GBA SP so I can play my old GB and GBC games... why can't they make the micro bc with GB & GBC games!! Bastards!!

i went to my local TRU store just for the hell of it... and i noticed they had a ton of micro sleeves, namco museums, and gba micros (and those other 2 kiddie games also).... was this an online only deal??

i was curious and almost tempted to purchase it and see if the micro somehow showed up on the reciept as $19.99 and then maybe i could return the other stuff and keep the micro plus a sleeve....

When I bought Splinter Cell and Castlevania Last Thursday and the guy told me to bring it back to get my free 3rd game. I went today while I was taking back the sleeves. And I pretty much starting to tell him whats up about the free 3rd game and he basically finished my sentence and was really cool about it. So they are aware and letting people get the free 3rd game. Just go to the CS desk.

I would, but I'm anticipating that a massive amount of Slick Dealers and Fat Wallaters are going to overload eBay with them dropping the prices, so I'll wait just a bit.

Another concern of mine is I'm not sure whether to return the 2 GBA games and sleeve. They retail for $40 combined ($15 each game, $10 sleeve), but since I used a 20% discount on the order, I would "only" get $32 back instead of the full $40.

So now I'm debating whether to add that to my auction as an "incentive" on eBay, or just return it.

I have three sleeves I'd love to return (I thought I might keep one, but then I looked at it and it seems pretty shoddy). The only TRU near me is the insanely busy one in Times Square and I'm sort of loathe to stand on their CS line for an hour if they are going to give me a hard time over three sleeves.

I just got an update with my order. The Namco Museum just got back in stock, so I couldn't cancel that, but I was ablet o canel the Pac-Man game and the micro sleeve. She also said that the black micros should be coming back in stock soon. If you ordered this stuff but only want the micro, call them and cancel the other things.

This means I got two micros and namco museum for $43.97. Not too bad. I'll take it. Hopefully I can sell the other micro for about $50 to get my micro for free.

Today I returned 3 sleeves and a DS game (needed it to get >$75) for store credit with no questions or problems. So you should be able to return your items with the packing slip without much of a hassle. Good luck!

When I canceled my other items, I made sure to ask the CSR that I wouldn't be charged twice for shipping. Is the Namco Museum the first item being shipped in your order? If so, you have nothing to worry about as they simply charged the whole shipping price for your entire order ahead of time.

Anyhow, I got my silver Micro today. Decided to keep this one as I like the black faceplate better. The screen works well despite it's size, but I feel like the image is a little color-deficient. Which is opposed to the DS Lite whose colors I consider to be over-saturated.

I didn't realize that a small cloth pouch is included with the system. Definitely useful and a nice touch.

I came into the dead zone to report that... my micro shipped. One of them, anyway - the silver. The black is still backordered.

I cancelled everything else on my order a few days after I placed it - the GBA games I didn't want, and the sleeve. Today I got a UPS tracking number for the silver micro, and an email confirmation of the charge - $17, no shipping fee. Yowza!
