View Full Version : I have a question about ordering from Gamespot (online store, not the B&M stores)

I have a few questions:
1. Are the prices online the same as in the store?
2. If you buy a new game, will they send you one of those (*cough*) open display copies that they claim (*cough* bullshit *cough*) that are brand new?
I never ordered from them so I was wondering what my fellow CAGs have to say about this matter.

I am assuming you mean Gamestop/EB Games? I haven't purchased anything from them online since their merger. But from my dealings with them in the past the games you order from them new are sealed new copies. The used games are usually hit or miss as far as getting a case and manual are concerned. The prices for games can vary from the online prices. In the past, I have gone into their B&M stores with a price of a new game I wanted, only to be told a different price from the website.

I never ordered from them so I was wondering what my fellow CAGs have to say about this matter. 1) They normally are the same between in-store and online, though sometimes the online prices are cheaper or much cheaper than in-store. It's no more expensive than in-store that I've seen. More recently, it's been the same in-store as online, though when it was cheaper or much cheaper online, it was only EB that had it that way, not GS.
2) Every single new game that I've ordered from them has been a new copy, save once. That one issue was a fluke, and they replaced it with a new copy and paid for it to be sent back to them. Once out of four dozen or more is enough to be called a fluke in my book.

There still are some glitches, like them having the PS2 version of Van Helsing for $35, but it's $15 in stores. But I think their prices are the same for stores & online, save for their daily deals.

Yeah, I forgot about that one. That's the last one I can think of.

Thanks for your help guys. I usually hate buying from Gamestop because of there pain-in-the-ass salespeople (in my area only, it's not true everywhere else).
