I've seen it once and was shocked and amazed. I picked it up for two reasons; 1) It is not intended for the kiddies:-P and 2) It is one of Toshio Maeda's renowned works.

Fist of the Northstar (VHS) $1
Urotsukidoji Legend of the Overfiend (VHS) $1

I saw these when I was younger, and they scared me for life.... in a good way. ;)

Urotsukidoji is a surprisingly good classic anime, hentai elements aside. There's actually a story in there!

Funny that two violent old-school anime tapes were at Goodwill though...

all I've found lately was a copy of Virtua Tennis (DC, $1.50) and the best looking old Game Boy I've seen in years, with a creamy center of free Tetris cart goodness ($1... I didn't notice Tetris until I tried to put batteries in the GB).

my local GW gets DC games in now and then, but they're usually "commons", and they want $4.99 each for them. at 2-bucks a pop, i'd pad out my collection, but for 5? NO. ;)

A couple of my local Salvation Army stores had NES games($4 a pop<groan>) as well as a PSone and I think an N64 in stock. Some games which I've seen before though(Astyanax, original Metal Gear) and some I'd never seen anywhere before.

Too bad I gave the NES I bought from one friend for $5 to another for free a while back(kept trying a Sally copy of Tetris which kept flashing out after 20 mins of playing) or I'd have bought a few of these games.

If I had one of my RF switches with me and a couple PSone games, I would've tried out and bought the PSone, which I think was $10.

Has anyone else noticed that 'thrift' stores seem to be charging insane amounts for stuff they get donated for NOTHING!?!?!?!

$150 for a COUCH, cockroaches from the former owner included at no additional charge

Honestly, some of this stuff I've seen lately, made me queasy, as these stores don't even look like they TRY to clean it before putting it out.

Sorry bout the rant, but I think 'thrift' stores as a whole(round here anyway) should be renamed to 'damn close to retail' stores.

I notice this all the time. I have my days were I score, but I have the day were the same store prices 8/16/32 bit games at $5.99 without box/manual.

That's the thing, neudog, some of the stores round by me charge a nominal amount for a game or a system, while others charge a bundle.

The one Sally had 2-3 systems, marked $5 each but I had no $$ on me at the time and by the time I got back, they were GONE. A top loading NES was among the systems there.

Heh, one of my Goodwills has that exact same pile of guides right now. They want $2.99 each for them though.

I've also been finding DC games at Goodwill lately. Just picked up a nice copy of Spider-Man yesterday for $1.99. The week before that, I found Tomb Raider Chronicles for the same price.

Update - I have 2 copies of Virtua Tennis, if a CAG wants one... it's Sega All-Stars though... plus the GB works great. :)

I have learned to check everywhere for finds thanks to CAG, because there isn't always time to hop on my broom and fly to Book Broker.

Heh, at one Goodwill I went to they had a small case for games, looking around and not really expecting to find anything I found a Bubble Bobble 2 cartridge in nice condition. After walking around for a while (was with my Mom) I realized that they wanted $85 for it, thats insane for something they got for free....

Wow! Mine is bad but not that bad. They usually charge 3.99 a game, regardless of the system. The funny thing is they always have tons of PS1s, NESs, N64s, Genesis's, and SNES's all for like 4.99 a piece. None of them ever come with any cords or controllers, but it was a cheap price to pay for a nice shape NES. Also saw the cords and controllers nearby, but they wanted 1.99 each.
