I just reviewed Family Guy for the PSP at PSP Fanboy (http://www.pspfanboy.com).
Family Guy is like Paris Hilton (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paris_hilton) or Jessica Simpson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jessica_simpson). At first it seems really great, and you're even impressed by its many talents, but the more you get to know it, the more you realize the fun you're having only runs skin deep. There just isn't much inside that old noggin.
Family Guy, which is developed by High Voltage Software (http://www.high-voltage.com/) and published by 2K Games (http://www.2kgames.com/),is probably the funniest video game I've ever played, but at the same time, it's also one of the most cliche, boring and tedious ones, as well.

C'mon, it's at least worth a 7. I've been playing it for hours today on XBox, it's pretty fun.

Its sad that at first you found Jessica Simpson and Paris Hilton to be really great and you were impressed with their talents.

I'm not sure if the Xbox version is different than the PSP one, but the gameplay is just not very much fun, except for Stewie's levels.
Brian's and Peter's are downright annoying. I think High Voltage tried to implement too many genres into one and didn't take the time to perfect any of them.

By talents, I didn't mean singing. ;)

Brian's aren't annoying, just frustrating.
I loved Peter's levels, actually, they reminded me of the old Simpsons Arcade Game.
Intentional or purpose? I'm sure conspiracy theorists will say intentional.

No, they're annoying. He walks too slow, and his crawling speed is that of an African snail (i.e. very very slow).
His levels are just not very much fun, either. You basically have to walk from one side of the room to the other, and after a level or two of doing the same thing, it bored me.
And Peter's levels are beyond frustrating. First off, he can't block and many of the enemies don't seem to have a set amount of hit points. You can punch one cop three or four times and he'll die and another one won't go down until you hit him with a combo. Again, like I mentioned in the review, this makes it even more frustrating when you have two different types of enemies to fight and you need to alternate punching and kicking to damage to all of them.
Another problem I had is there doesn't seem to be any reason for the random level switching between characters. Like I said in the review, I'm guessing they did it because they realized people would get bored of playing the same scenario again and again.
Don't get me wrong, though, High Voltage did an amazing job at capturing the Family Guy essence. I just wish they spent a little more time giving us a deeper game.
I really wanted to like this game, and I was actually looking forward to it for awhile. At first, it seemed like it was going to be a great game, but the more I played it, the more I realized how shallow the gameplay was.

its kind of true the brian levels are frustraiting and the peter ones are getting there the fighting system where only a third of the hits actualy hit the other people blah.
Stewie is great tho I say the whole game shouldve be based on him.

Yeah, I was expecting this to be better than Zelda:OoT too. Damn them for not making this the best epic game ever! :D

I wasn't expecting greatness, I mean it is a licensed game and all, but I did expect to ya know, actually enjoy the game. Is that too much to ask?

It's funny, it seems the Gamespy reviewer agreed with just about everything I said.
