is there a catch or do you just get $10 off every purchase when you use it? Also, if you order something under 10, is it free?

This is not a deal.

It's gotta be at least $30, and it takes it off immediately. I've only used it once, but I think it's for every qualifying purchase.
EDIT - Beat me to it.

I've now used the Google Checkout a great deal since I found out about it. There's a huge list of websites that will give you $10 off a purchase of $30+ (before tax and shipping), which really is quite an excellent deal. That's a full 1/3 off - and even matches the excellence of the "$10 off any game at Best Buy" coupon.
The way to get the best value out of it is to order games separately. So far from cduniverse.com I've ordered Phoenix Wright ($23.85), Phoenix Wright II ($23.55), Wavebird Controller ($23.00ish), and from buy.com, a 2GB Kingston SD card ($27.00 + $9.00 rebate). So so far, I've saved $40 on purchases thanks to Google Checkout. I highly approve.
This $10 off only works on orders that can be shipped as one. So if I would have ordered PW and PWII on the same order, I wouldn't have saved $10 because they have to ship separately since PWII is a preorder. But since I bought them separately, I saved $10 on each game - and I won't be charged for PWII until it ships.
I don't know about a time limit on the deal... I hope it goes for a fair while longer.
EDIT:
Well, look at that. Even since posting this reply, I've ordered more things! I ordered an extra Wiimote for $36.28, and a Nunchuck + Classic Controller for $33.17. So that'd be about $16.05 saved on two purchases I was going to make anyways!
EDIT II:
I just read a bit on Google's Help section and it never mentions an end date to the $10 off $30 deal. It also states that the discount can be used an unlimited amout of times. Though, one bit says that it can only be used once per store. If that's the case, I'll be horribly dissapointed with some of my purchases. Though, the website does elude the the fact that one would receive an error message if they tried to use the discount more than once, and I have received no such message, and all emails I've gotten from Google Purchases reflect the $10 discount. So, we'll see.

Yes, it expires at the end of the month, but as people say you have to order $30 worth of stuff. Since a lot of places charge $4 or $5 shipping for a game or two, you're not actually saving as much as you might think, so look for things that are either cheaper than other places or that have free shipping. If you are careful and make every order as close to $30 as possible, it's a great deal. I've done it like 8 times already...

At first I didn't think this offer would be that big of a deal; 6 orders later and I can clearly see I was wrong.

It saves me tons of money because of tax in this area (almost 9.0% on everything) and most of those stores on the list are online-only stores and do not charge tax to the state of ny. Its way better than the ebgames edge card and you get new merchandise.

Yeah, the big "catch" is that if you use the offer too many times you run out of money...

Just make sure to opt out of their information sharing stuff.

I made my seventh (and most likely, final) purchase with this deal last night. I think I doubled my backlog but at least I'll have no shortage of games for the winter.
