That's what I used to say until I got Vista. If I create a new folder on my desktop and rename it, vista can't find it when I double click it. It says the folder has moved. Then when I drag it to the recycle bin to start over, Vista says it has been moved and can't be deleted. I actually have to restart to get rid of it!

Yeah, I have Maxim now becuase I had a free sub from buy.com for spending over $15 and my free Stuff sub was added onto Maxim when they folded...I only have it until 2009, so any Maxim extensions would be appreciated.

This is off topic, but maybe someone will know. Do any mags still offer lifetime subscriptions? I know Rolling Stone and Playboy did, but I am not sure if they still do.

Here's the good part. Ever since I ordered the free PopSci subscription from AdPerk I've been receiving the PopSci newsletter which I'm pretty sure I never signed up to.

Just use a fake name but your real address so you still get the mags, but with the spam mail you just throw away. 8-)


ALSO: check that site for their FREE MAGS section every week. They change/add mags all the time.

I do not recall ever seeing an Anime mag. Closest thing was MAD magazine or comics buyers guide. I haven't gotten many video game mag emails lately. I missed the 'Spanish edition' Maxim one I was emailed (It was gone within an hour or so)...Must have been on SD or FW.

^^^Nope both are dead...within minutes of their listing. I think I posted MAD here, but it was dead right away. The best way to get in on mag subs is to sign up for freebizmag and mercury magazines emails with a 'throw away' email address in case you get spam. I have gotten over 40 different mags from these companies for free...It got a little crazxy, so I am down to about 18 mags.

^^^ FBM and Mercury are legit. You will get renewal notices in a year, but they are not bills (Unless they say 'past due' or something). I believe magazine companies have an 'opt in' policy now for automatic renewal, so none of the mags from these companies should be auto renewed. They are also gift subscriptions, so they should not be auto renewed.

Youll probably get another year added on for free if you keep your eyes on this thread. EGM never runs out and I am willing to bet that EGM goes out of business before most of our free subscriptions end.

Also you dont give them any information that they could use to charge, EGM bills the company whos doing the promotion so you have nothing to worry about.

If you check on the address label of any home subscription issue you should be able to locate a three letter month with a two digit year code to tell you when your subscription will expire. For me for example it reads Sep10.
