well, i've probably missed tons of clearances/sales on this one. but i've finally started to shop around for this game and there are some high prices on this one, some even up to 80.00 on half.com.

very interesting. it's a rare game?

wiki entry: "Due to an undershipment, the game was difficult to find in the months following its North American release."

kinda sounds like phoenix wright of a few months back, but i don't think konami is going to re-issue this one.

Well, during late November and early December last year, they were selling on eBay for $10 to $20 above retail price. Konami shipped another batch mid December. It seems the price has recently gone back up, but they still sell below $40 on eBay. Try Best Buy or Toys R Us, that's where I've always seen a bunch of copies, though I haven't seen them around as much recently.

You can get it from the Konami store directly for $29.99, its in stock at the moment.

Oddly enough, the best place to look for a "rare" game is the company's website. People never seem to think to order from them directly.

This game along with Castlevania DS get printed in small batches, but they do get reprinted regularly. It's just that the batches are so small they tend to sell out fast. It was never a big seller, so a lot of stores don't carry it.

Lost in Blue is a tad difficult to find, but well worth tracking down simply for playing. Good to great game.

I'm intrigued by the concept, and the execution looks great. I've read about some gameplay/difficulty issues, though.

To anyone who's played it: is it worth $60+ dollars? Or is this a situation where the fact that it's hard to come by has made it more desirable?

played it, enjoyed it....but its not worth 60. Wait for the sequel that seems to have fixed certain problems.

I agree 100%. Even with its problems many folks were willing to pay the big bucks because this game is so unique. But when the sequel comes out, the novelty of a island survival adventure will no longer warrant the high price tag.

Yeah, no need to pay twice retail for a game that's getting a sequel in less than two months...

Thanks for the level-headed advice. I've been hellbent on tracking down a copy of this for the last week or so, with no luck. I'll just wait for the sequel.

First DS game I ever played and I <3 survival type games so I absolutely adore this game. But I wouldn't pay over MSRP for this game; Only Kirby's Canvas Curse warrants that.

So put me in the column of wait till LiB:2 or go to a BB or TRU and pick it up... there are still quite a few in the ones here locally.

That's what I did to get my copy around eight months ago. I couldn't find it anywhere else (except eBay for a fair bit over MSRP), so even with the $8 shipping, ordering it from the Konami store ended up being the cheapest option.

Last time I checked, my local Best Buy had a few copies in stock. Thats been a few weeks, but who knows, since it is in a relatively small town.
