Even if they wait in line with everyone else. Not confirmed yet, but sounds legit

Good. All stores should have that policy.

Ticketmaster should too. Those bastards steal most of the tickets to shows that sell out to sell on ebay. Blah.

that'll be nice. the first 20 people in line at my BB for the 360 were the employees and their girlfriends.

Maybe they can purchase it quietly.

Sorry OP.

CC did the same thing last year for the 360 so I expect it this year as well.

Not allowing employees to buy one even if they wait in line, though, has no logic whatsoever. At that point the companies are showing no consideration at all for their employees. Shocking!

its because you know they will use there employee discount to get them... so what is the discount for bb employees anyways? I've heard strange numbers but never confirmed this and its been 11 years since I worked at bb and back then we only got a 10% discount.

Good. All stores should have that policy.

Agreed, then customers would be happy.

OP, shouldn't the title say allowed, not aloud?

When my girlfreind worked at best buy, they didn't even let her use her discount on hardware.

When my friend worked at BB the discount was the store cost +5%, so it would be nothing on a new system. He could get computer wires dirt cheap (should have taken advantage of it)

That's what my friend says, it covers everything except hardware & appliances. Which would explain why he has a crapload of DVDs but says a Xbox 360 costs too much.

Seriously, all stores should have this sort of policy ALSO on holding stuff also. Nothing pisses a customer off more (at least i get pissed) than finding out something is being held for an employee.

A mostly different issue entirely, but I sympathize with you ("no, of course we don't have Suikoden II").

Not true, we just got email today about the policy if we wait in line we can get them. If we wait in line its the same as anyone else.

It might be a store-to-store basis depending on the managers. The BB I used to work at wouldn't even let us buy a PSP. A PSP. The PS3 is going to be about 100x harder to find, so it really wouldn't surprise me that some BB managers will try to stop their employees from purchasing.
