Does Black and White work on Win XP

Hmm..don't know. I would assume though. Most 98 apps work on XP.

I'm 90% sure it does. I vaugely remember running it on XP.

the reason i ask is because i tried on my computer and it would not work and on the system requirements it only says up to Win Me and 2000, i don't believe that it had anything with XP or NT?? I tried in my Xp comp., and it would not work. Same thing happened when i put it in my Win 98 computer. Could it just have been a defective disk or something with XP

I played it a long time ago, I dont remember having to do anything special to play it. You might want to check out the support site to see if they have any patches.

There are so many things wrong with Black and White, it all depends. For some people you are just downright screwed and will never get it to work, for some people certain patches will work, or no patches at all, just google it, i got mine to work.

You need a patch. If you're getting it in the new uniformed size smaller box, it's included, if not, you can download it from somewhere, where, I'm not sure since I got it included ;)

Black and White does not work on my XP laptop, but I think its because of my video card (Intel Extreme Graphics).

I bought the original one and it wouldn't work on my pc with XP. I gave that one to a friend and bought the new one out with the expansion pack. It works with XP. I run it in compatability mode under Windows 2000, but it also works under xp.

I'm sure it can be made to work but it seems an awful waste to run a modern PC at only one bit per pixel.

thanks gdw3877 i saw that one and i think i'm going to get it and get rid of my old copy that is either broken or doesn't work through XP.

well, i had some problems at first, but if you google "black and white patches" not only will you find patches, but an explination of which one you would need. For me, i had to skip the first and second patch and DL the third one for it to work on my machine.

Absolutely no problem. If you are having problems, try using the compatability mode that is included with Windows XP. To do this, install the game, then on the desktop icon for it, right click and go to PROPERTIES. Click on the Compatability tab. The first option should be compatability mode. Check the box next to (Run this program in compatabilty mode for:) and then select the OS you want to use. I have it running under windows 2000. Don't bother looking for patches because the patch is included on the discs. Hope it works out for you.

Im Sorry for bringing up something thats Old but im having a problem. when i start it up it gets to the loading screen then just Exits
