Some will say this deal is back, some will say it never went away (though my GR's said it did) but either way the coupon is on their website right now. PS1, PS2, XBOX, GC, GBA.

http://www.blockbuster.com/bb/gamerush/grcoupon.jpg

In the fine print it says limit 2 preowned titles per member per day, and then right after it says limit 20 preowned games per member per day.

This could be interpreted in a few different ways....it could mean you are only allowed to trade in 2 of the same title per day, and a maximum of 20 games per day. Or, it could mean you can only get from GR 2 of the same title per day, and only 20 preowned games per day from them per day. Although that would mean you're trading in 40 games at once? If anyone could get clarification on this it would be good. I imagine the stores I have been to will take one look and see limit 2 and mean that I can only do the offer twice, although it does say limit 20 games per day after that. I may call my local GR in the afternoon when the Game Trader gets in, but I am pretty sure they won't even have heard about the coupon yet.... :? Last time I was in GR when this deal was going on I was told I could only do it once, and I had no coupon to say otherwise.

you can get 2 9.99 titles for them, and you cant trade more than 20 games overall.

Just wondering if that's your interpretation or if that's what a GR manager told you. Because they could have written it a lot less confusing. They don't make a distinction between 2 preowned titles and 20 preowned games.

you can get 2 9.99 titles for them, and you cant trade more than 20 games overall.

I'm pretty sure that means you can't buy more than 20 pre-owned titles per day and you can't buy more than 2 of the same pre-owned title per day.

Oh, and one of my local managers said last week that this deal would end 6/27. Not sure if that is official or not though and they seem to have a policy of extending their deals.

That would be a COMPLETE crock since they just put the coupon up today. Before today the current offer was trade 2 get new 29.99, but according to my stores that actually expired on Monday and now it's 39.99. I don't think they even know.....

See what I mean about there being different interpretations though.....it could be limits on what you can buy, or limits on what you can trade-in, or a combination...

Well, just enjoy it while you can peeps!

I just got 8 PS1 games from my cousin that I loaned him 3 years ago.
I'll be trading those in tomorrow or Saturday. Luckily, I have 3 GR's in my immediate area and can scour them for good pre-owned games!

I got screwed the last time though as some punk nabbed FSW right b4 I got there.

Why would that be a crock? Are you planning on buying more than 2 of the same game or more than 20 games the same day? These same rules have always been in affect on this deal according to the flyer that has been in stores.

The deal for new games is now trade 1 game get any new game for $39.99. The manager I talked to seemed to think this was going to be a permanent deal.

basically, by reading the original coupon, as well as all the paperwork they leave laying on the counters (messy people), i came to that conclusion.

What i know:
You can only trade in 2 of the same game in any one day. No matter what the deal.

Its SUPPOSED to be, for the 9.99 thing, only 2 9.99 games per DAY, and 20 9.99 game per MONTH. I know thats not what the coupon says, but thats what the original said, as well as thier paperwork. Mind you, half of thier rules are only half thought through, so i have no clue what thier thinking.

While not as good as the $30 deal, this is still a steal as you can give them some crap PS1 game and save $10 or a decent game and use the credit towards the purchase.

No, I meant the crock would be if it ended on 6/27 since it's just on the website now on 6/24.

I also gave a call to Blockbuster customer service. They went along with what you said, that it means you can only buy 2 of the same title for 9.99 each per day and a maximum of 20 games overall for 9.99 each per day. That'd be a whole lot of swapping (40+ games).

I am gonna check out GR this weekend. I still have a feeling they will try to say I can only do the 9.99 offer twice based on the way the coupon is written, but that should be ok I probably won't see more than 2 PO games that I want.

You know....that makes sense....2 per day....20 per month......that's a pretty big typo then. But you're right, it has to be. Otherwise no one even halfway intelligent writing the coupon would have worded it this confusing. Because it basically says limit 2 per day. Limit 20 per day. They had to have meant month. Maybe they will update it.

Ah, my bad, I couldn't figure out what you were upset about. :D
Well, in all likelihood, this deal will be extended.

Yeah should be. Although it looks like the coupon may have a typo like discussed above, that it should read 20 per month.

Now that I think about it, the manager also said that all their sales end on Tuesdays. I see that July 27th is a Tuesday, so maybe he just said the wrong month?

I think it means you can trade up to 40 games in one day so that means you get a max of 20 preowned games that same day. And you can only get 2 of the same title. Because i went the gamerush and they only let me get 2 hitman contracts. And i don't think its max 20 per month cause i have gone way over that, lol. I will talk to the people there who work in the gamerush department.

The problem is that there isn't one authority who really seems to know...it's kind of YMMV. The Blockbuster customer service line wasn't even sure really. 20 9.99 offers in one day? That's a lot. I have a hard time believing they'd put it in writing, on their coupon that it's okay to do that, that if someone grabbed 20 good 39.99 PO games and traded in 40 PS1 games they'd be ok with that. But, anything's possible. What your GR staff say about it may be different than what mine say about it...

edit:update: Just to give you an example of what I mean...I just called back the GR I go to...the last time this particular store was running the 9.99 deal they only let me do it once and I didn't have any coupon that said otherwise. I called back now and asked someone (the trader isn't in yet) and they said you can only do the offer once per day period. I said the coupon says 2/20 and she said "Well maybe they didn't update the coupon yet". She also told me that "kids were coming in and getting a ton of newer PO games and trading in REALLY old games" so they had to limit it. I mentioned the Limit 2 again she said "probably means you can only GIVE us 2 games per day." Stuff like this is really frustrating to me, when no one knows exactly what they can/cannot offer and it's subject to individual employee interpretation. I am pretty sure if I go back it will be once per day again, and it will be a huge fight if I try to say otherwise. I also asked when the deal expires, and she said they only know the morning of via email. Which to me is lame too.
