I got the viewsonic widescreen from newegg on sale for like $175, and I love it. 19". Too lazy to look up the model right now but it's very popular and very nice.

I got the V7 Series R19WPS 19" Widescreen LCD monitor for $139.98 shipped at Staples.com last week, but it's sold it now.
The best part is Staples paid for my CA LCD recycling fee and had free 1-day shipping.
360 looks amazing on it. If you are in the market for VGA cables, forget about Microsoft's offical cables for $40.
I got these (http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-de-77-q-49-en-15-360%2Bvga-70-16s8.html) VGA cables from Play-Asia for $6.90 + shipping.

Eh, as much as a cheapass that I am I wouldn't really want to go for 3rd party products over official Microsoft ones. This is what I currently use, how will it look with the VGA cable?

Do not buy one without doing your research.
If the monitor doesn't offer 1:1 pixel mapping (aspect ratio settings), then it will stretch your screen. HDTV outputs are 16:9, which WXGA (widescreen computer monitor standard) is 16:10. Most cheap monitors from Newegg will stretch the signal out to fill the entire monitor.
Dell monitors offer 1:1 pixel mapping, I've heard Gateways do as well.
Those are both budget friendly models in the 20-21 inch range, but they're about $50 over $200.
I'm just warning you that 1:1 pixel mapping is an issue some people are completely ignorant of, and it's also very difficult to find which monitors do it. Make sure the monitor has an "aspect ratio" option on the OSD. I suggest going to CC or someplace and looking at the OSD (that's on-screen-display, btw) of all the models, checking for aspect ratio settings, before you buy the product.
Oh, and if your monitor is 16:9 anyways (like the Samsung RiCeBo1 posted), you have nothing to worry about. EDIT the Samsung is mislabled, it is 16:10 as well (1440x900), BB just claims it's 16:9.

Any idea if the Gateway FPD1975W supports 1:1 mapping? Picked it up from CC about a month ago, but it's native resolution is 1440x900 (16:10) - has been great so far for PC/360 use, and the dual-input switching is great to have if you're using it for both like I am.

That monitor looks pretty badass. Could I hook up a PS2, Xbox, Wii, and a 360 to that, all at the same time? I've been in the market for a new TV for gaming, and this seems like it would work really well in my room.

Its as good or better... The games run natively at 720p, or 1080x720. It scales internally to 1080i as it would to whatever resolution you'd use.

Would either of these be recommended / work well with the 360? I doubt I'll be able to score one on Black Friday.

Both of those would work very well with the 360. The faster the response time the better. 8ms is the minimum to play video games on, 5ms would be great, but I play with an 8ms monitor and have no lagging/ghosting of any kind.
I would go with the Benq for the price/size/DVI.

I have a quick question and do not want to make another thread.
Does the aspect ratio of the PC monitor come into play ( since most are 16:10 while widescreen TV's tend to be 16:9)? I want to get the Westinghouse from BB, but I also want to make sure that it will look good on it. Will it format the screen with black bars on the bottom or will it fill the whole screen?
Thanks

I'm using a 16:10, it fills the whole screen.
I think you have the wrong samsung monitor...according to the ad its a 931BW not the 940. It has a 2ms response time and looks to be better than the 940. I couldn't find it on the Best Buy website but found it on samsung's:
http://www.samsung.com/ph/products/monitor/lcdmonitor/931bw.asp?page=Specifications
Here is a scan of the Best Buy ad:
http://bfads.net/pop/3027
I'm thinking I might grab it for the $130.

Wow. That makes the decision to get the Westinghouse a little more iffy. HDCP, a great response time, and 70 bucks difference in price might sway me (plus Samsungs have a better warranty.
I guess I need to go to BB and see how big a difference size really is.
