HK/USA Imports work on UK console??

Hi everyone :) sorry, I have looked for this info around the site and got no clear answer.

Will games imported from Hong Kong/USA work on our 360s? I have read about the $40 COD3 import from HK for USA players, but will this work on our machines too?

I got splinter cell double agent for 25 quid. And i just ordered call of duty 3 from there.
