The Ant Commandos Announce the First 10 Fret Button Guitar Controller for Guitar Hero™ and Guitar Hero II™
Rock the Top Five Buttons in Style Then Pull in Tight to the Bottom Five Buttons for a Sizzling Solo

October 29, 2006 – Chino, CA- The Ant Commandos announced today the release of the first guitar controller series developed for advanced Guitar Hero™ and Guitar Hero II™ players on PlayStation®2. Expert gamers can now jam faster with more range on the patent-pending 10 fret button design of the Double Range Freedom V Wireless and Double Range Rocking V Wired guitar controllers from the Guitar Mania line.

Simplicity transforms into a stimulating challenge with the ability to slide from one end of the neck to the other without skipping a beat. The patent-pending 10 fret button design allows players to crank out their favorite Guitar Hero™ and Guitar Hero II™ tunes using the top five fret buttons, then pull in tight to the base of the guitar for a rocking solo.
Molded from TAC's Guitar Mania V series, the Double Range Freedom V Wireless and Double Range Rocking V Wired scream rock star perfection with FeatherTouch fret buttons, tighter whammy bars, and sleek black and white V shaped frames. The 2.4 GHz of AutoSense wireless technology in the Double Range Freedom V Wireless means no more yanking the gaming system to the ground when performing scissor kicks off the couch. The Double Range Rocking V Wired brings optimal mobility for the first time to a wired controller by extending the cord two feet longer than any other guitar controller.

I always thought that would be a good idea. You look like more of a badass when you play lower on the fret.

If they were going to put a second set of keys lower on the neck, they should have them near the bottom (good heshers always work the last string).

Sounds interesting; weren't TAC being sued by Red Octane (FWIW)?

Actually, that would be higher on the neck.

:-s I guess I don't really see the usefulness of having 10 fret buttons instead of the normal five. I wouldn't buy it anyway, not because of this, but because it's not a RO product.

Why did they make the bottom buttons so small? :( They're not any closer together, which might have actually been useful.

I don't get it...so, these buttons do the same as the other 5, but you slide down for solos just to look cooler? Is that right?

to look cooler?

Unfortunately, increasing the coolness factor by even 100% won't help much, since 100% of 0 is still 0. But, yes, I think you have it correct sir.

TAC proves once again why they are useless. Does the wireless version of this let you rokk 4 seconds after the notes hit like their last guitar did?

I look cooler playing this than any other game, though.
