I went to two Best Buys this evening, the Gaithersburg and Germantown, MD, Best Buys in search of my pre-order of Gears of War...and in any event, as I wander the aisles of the Gaithersburg, MD BB, I was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful PS3 kiosk. There were numerous peope around, but nobody had any idea what the kiosk was for. Ironically it was placed right where all of the 360 games were. There was no volume control, so it was blasting. I had a good time playing, but it didn't really impress me as much as I thought it would. It is akin to a 360+...I didn't notice the lack of rumble feature, and the OS or desktop, for lack of a better word, was a bit counter-intuitive. It looks like the PSP home page, but it is a bit more complex...or maybe it was just because it was uncomfortably loud and the controllers were oddly light, and the L1 and R2 buttons were jutted out. Anyhow, I want one of these bad boys....but I wasn't blown away by the motocross game or NBA 2k7. My experiences were similar to those of the Target kiosk folk, but the BB kiosk was infinitely nicer. Check it out. BTW, the Germantown BB had nothing....no GoW or kiosk.
