Its thought that the collectors edition will be the only version that has the updated version of Half-Life and Counter-Strike.

i have a cdkey that doesnt work if i use it on my steam account before. i made one back then. but i dont remember my email addy, account name, and password. i cant use the same cdkey to make a new account. they said i have to use my previous account that used that same cdkey.

Each expansion has its own CD key. And if this is the only version to include the original, this is the version I'm getting.

thats a question I wanted to know too, and by reading both answers, I'm sort of confused right now..

so in the Platinum pack, do all those seperate games, or do they all share one same cd-key, and also if they don't share, can those 4 different games (not including CS itself) all be used for Counter-Strike on 4 different computers?

I'm not trying to be very illegal or cheap, but I already bought a seperate Blue Shift, original Half Life, and a retail Counter-Strike before, but the keys I shared with friends, and they were banned, or used quite daily. I just don't feel like passing up more money mainly for the key only.

Well, in the platinum pack 2, each expansion and the original has its own key, made specifically for that expansion. Or, at least I got 5 keys in my pack.

Personally, I'd skip CS:CZ, and just buy HL: GOTY for like $10, and download Steam. Then download DOD and CS. But if you did buy CS:CZ, you'll basically have two Counter-Strikes. One that has CZ features, then you can just download regular CS 1.6.

No, you can d/l the mods with CS:CZ because Valve shifted all its games onto the Steam service. I was just suggesting you save money by skipping CZ(not worth it unless you really love CS, i've played cal-m and I didn't get it so....) and just get HL.

2) I dont think the SE is going to cost $150, and if it did (which it wont) EBGames would not honor the price, they would cancel your order.

3) The contents of the Colelctors Edition have NOT been confirmed at all. It was said that they "might" include Half Life 1 Source, Counter STrike Source, nd Day of Defeat Source, but this is very very unknown and has no proof anywhere.

The Half-Life 1 Platinum Edition comes with 5 CD-keys but from my own experience only 3 of them seem to work on Steam (Counter-Strike, Half-Life, and Blue Shift).

you only need one key, or one game.

ex: I bought counter strike. I downloaded all of the other mods like opposing force, team fortress classic, day of defeat, etc for free.

If you bought Half Life, then you could get all of the same, plus Counter Strike for free yes.

My platinum pack came with 3 CD Keys. The Op4 one stood alone, but the CS and HL ones were interchangeable.

Okay.... The answer to all of the above questions regarding the HL2 plat pack. There are 4 keys I believe, but only 2 are valid with Steam. Still, for 30$ you get 2 accounts, HL and CS, both can be used to download CS and all of its mods. Your welcome.
