View Full Version : Why are there barely any releases in December?

I was just looking to see what else is coming for the 360, since it seems there are so many awesome games in such a short time frame, and I noticed December for the 360 is...very empty. All that's releasing is:

Star Trek Legacy
Rapala Trophies

I mean, seriously, what happened? I think any one of the future games would greatly benefit from being the ONLY high profile release in December if it got pushed back, instead we got this super deluge of games in November all at once and sadly, games are already being lost in the fray (It seems F.E.A.R was released and quickly forgotten about).

Or is December usually always an empty period?

December is never an empty period. It, along with November, is usually flooded with WAY too many games, and it should keep going strong into January.

Well, according to Gamestop.com, December is pretty damn empty, unless something gets pushed back (or pushed up) we don't have anything to look forward to at all.

Which dosen't bother me at all, I can use December to catch up on November 0_0

Not really complaining, just found it a little odd the system has virtually nothing big planned from 11/20 all the way past Christmas.

I'm glad for it.
Gives me a breather with the new systems out, GOW, Call of Duty 3, Viva Pinata, Fears...yikes. I need room to play before Lost Planet comes out in friggin' January.

November has been one game after another; not only that, it has been one very good game after another. Thank goodness December is a slow one, at least for the 360...'cause across the board, these past few weeks have been huge.

I see no problem here... less games during the holiday season is a good thing. There have been plenty of great games this year as it is and that's not including the still unreleased PS3 & Wii.

December has always been a little bit slower. These games coming out now are "holiday games" and the sooner they are in stores, the more they can sell before Christmas. Yeah, December looks a little barren but it's no big deal.

Keep in mind we do have stuff like Small Arms and other original XBLA content coming.

More games in November equal more games for the Christmas/Holiday buying season and more time for them to sell. Simple as that. If something came out in December, no matter at what stage, it wouldn't have enough time to sell for the holidays.
