So I was daydreaming as usual and came up with something semi-interesting. A DS game player for the Wii! Seems somewhat plausible, eh? only issue I can think of is the screen size.
I guess it could work...the funny thing is I was all excited for the GBA player but I find myself rarely using it. When I'm home I want to play a console game for the most part. If they do it this go around I'll probably hold out.

even i was wondering if the wii could have an expandable bay where you can add an extra hardware for a DS slot.

that would suck. you'd have to use the classic controller in conjunction with the pointer just to have enough buttons.
What about the touch screen? I know pointer control is similar, but I don't think games made for the DS would work on Wii unless they were specifically programmed to.

I haven't played everything, but it seemed like the touchscreen games used a minimum of buttons and vice versa.

maybe the trigger button could be held down to make the pointer simulate touch...I dunno. past that and I'm in over my head ;)

while it might be possible, its not very practical. something would suffer, whether its screen display or touch screen, it just wouldnt replicate as well as say gba player with the cube.

If they could do it right, I would definitly be intrested because I don't own a DS and really don't have any desire to except for a handful of games like Mario Kart DS, which leads to the question, if you played that online via the Wii would you be playing those on the Wii or DS?

No, won't happen plus the controls are very different... although you might see some DS games converted to the Wii ala Trama Center. The controls for the DS are best suited for that console.
