Not sure if everybody knows, but just a heads up in case you don't.
It's in this weeks ad, and it's been leaked for at least a week now.
I don't think it'll be hard at all to find a Wii.

yes we know ^_^
I've read 2 reports here on CAG (including mine LOL) that they will start the line in Layaway. I believe they will be giving out tickets at 11pm. My store told me "the line will start at 7am".. yes, AM. I doubt anyone is gonna chill in Wal-Mart for like 18 hours. I may head there around 5-6pm though. If not, I come home.. get a BIT rest..and head out to Target and wait for them bastards to open.
Hopefully Wal-Mart isn't TOO nuts, and they also carry a good stock.

Yup, that sounds accurate. My plan? Go to Walmart around 6pm and beg for a reserve line ticket. If that's a no go, I'll come back aroudn 8 and wait with Phoenix Wright and/or Ouendan. ;)

Yeah I haven't gotten any new DS games in a while. I think my last DS game I got was Mario Hoops ..and that was for my birthday back in September. I'd go buy one, play this week..but.. I rather use that money towards Wii stuff !!

I'm probably gonna go and get one and return it if I end up getting it at BestBuy instead since I'd rather get Reward Zone points for it.
If I can get it at CC with the $40 off coupon, that'd be great too =D

I might do this, considering that I will prob have to work on the 19th and would be up at midnight anyway. Might take my brother cause he wants one too, so I mean its not that big of a deal, I won't camp out but I'll stop in I think.

I will be waiting for one at Wal-Mart and then sell the one I have on pre-order at TRU.

Was going to until I snagged a TRU preorder this morning. Good luck to those of you that turn out for this.

My Wal-Mart has a big sign that says it's not a 24 hour store so it will be opening at 7am for both the PS3 and Wii. Doesn't bother me though, I've been guaranteed a PS3 and a Wii at GameStop barring some crazy shipping error. Unfortunately no midnight release for either, so I'll be waiting till like 9 am.

I'm either going to wait at Walmart or, depending on the CC situation, I might just get the Wii there with the coupon.

I work at Walmart. They are allowing lines at 6AM, Saturday morning, in Layaway. Some Walmarts are handing out line vouchers and allowing you to wander around the store for that time rather than wait in line, others are making you stay in line all day. Mine is making you stay in line. If you do get the voucher system, you have to be back at Layaway by 11:30PM or your voucher is void. If you leave the store, your voucher is also void. Limit 1 per customer.

How could they possibly know that you left the store?

If they see people lined up at say... 7am right. And they handed out vouchers. It should be "Come back by midnite with it". It'll save HELLA time. Basically, if you show up the next day with it, it should be void.
Wal-Mart is never organized, so we'll see what happens.

Yes, I have my brother sitting in for me as he is a Wal-Mart employee. I've told him that aquiring a Wii by waiting in line or by getting the Electonics manager to hold one for him will count for his Christmas gift to me.
So I'll show up around 11pm on Saturday to see if they are going to sell any of the games or extras early.

I will not be showing up at Walmart until about 2pm. Being in socal, I have a pretty good feeling the line will be too long and i am going to have to look elsewhere. I can use this opportunity as my warmup for BF

Maybe this is the advantage of living in the middle of nowhere, but I have a pretty good feeling I can show up at 11:45 pm and get a PS3 or a Wii assuming the employees aren't allowed to snatch up the PS3. It could be possible that I'm underestimating the selling power of the PS3, but I kind of doubt that ppl will line up here before 10pm for a 600 dollar machine. I'm also thinking the 60ish wii's that all the targets are getting would mean that the walmarts should get that many too, so I'm guessing it'll take them the better part of a day to sell that many around my parts. I worked at a walmart sadly enough when the PS2 was released and I don't recall any line, but I do recall them being gone in one day. I'm thinking this is one of the few pros of living on the outskirts of civilization, but this 7 days and more then a 3 hour line talk I keep seeing is amazing to me.

I talked to someone at the electronics department who said they were getting 20 Wii's in and that he himself was going to go in at 4pm. I was really hoping I could go in around 10 and still get one, now I don't know for sure.

Don't be so sure. Apparently one of the Walmarts in Sioux Falls, SD has already turned away people trying to line up for a PS3.

All 'SuperCenters' are open 24/7...Not sure if normal Wal-Marts will be staying open. The only ones I can think of in socal is Oxnard and Porter Ranch.

I plan on going to Walmart, but I don't think anyone really knows what demand or supply is going to be until Sunday. Will every place sell out before they even officially start selling them (lines and tickets) or will you be able to waltz in on Monday and snag one of the last ones...

I remember dropping in on the Walmart in Covina during all hours of the night 6-7 years ago when I was in highschool. If that one is still 24hrs I will be heading there. Otherwise, I am going to have to tough it out at the Baldwin Park location. Yay.
EDIT: To clarify. The Baldwin Park location is not 24hrs (close at 11pm). However, For both the PS3 and Wii launches, they will have a line outside. They will pass out vouchers at midnight and only those folks with the voucher are allowed into the store from 12-1pm.
EDIT2: Just called Covina. Midnight launch is a no go. Baldwin Park it is... woohoo...

My girlfriend's bro works there, but I don't think he'll be able to help us get a Wii at all.
I also won't be getting there until 7 or 8pm, my girl is going there around 7pm. I don't know how the lines will be, but I hope there aren't more than 30 people by the time we get there.

You know that you get double the rewards points buying Video Games, Music, and Movies from Bestbuy until toward the end of Bestbuy.

I called the nearest supercenter and someone at electronics said that they would start selling the Wii at 8am. Bummer. I guess i'll try the local target since they are getting about 120 of them.

I have my Wii reserved at the local Gamestop, but there is a Walmart within the same mall as the Gamestop, so after I pick up my Wii, games, and pre-ordered accessories, I may consider stopping by the Walmart to see if they have any more controllers, etc (if I have any money left, but after I drop my stuff off in my car, lol).

20 is the minimum shipment, according to the ad. From what I've read elsewhere, each store should be getting an average of 40-50 systems.
The actual number will depend on the store, of course... my local Wal-Mart in Iowa probably won't get nearly as many as the stores in Chicago or NYC.

Here's an idea, stop calling and actually go by and talk to the electronics department manager. You are way more likely to get a correct answer.

Just a thought I had last night for anyone headed to Walmart. Go to Walmart this Thursday (16th) evening and check out the PS3 line to see how and where they're handling things. I'm not sure my Walmart has a layaway section and they told me chairs were going to be in the electronics department. So I'm gonna head over there tomorrow around 10:00 or shortly thereafter to see how things are setup and see if any fights have broken out yet. ;)
