Call of Duty 3 or F.E.A.R. [Mobile/Archive]

I am trying to decide which of these I will get as my third game when I take advantage of the B2G1 that will be at GS/EB during Black Friday weekend. The first game is Gears of War and the second will be Ninety Nine Nights so that my girlfriend will finally have something to play outside of Uno.

If you've played CoD2 to death, get F.E.A.R.

However, they are both FANTASTIC games. You can't go wrong either way.

Haven't actually played COD 2 that is why I am interested in playing COD 3 since people say it is a little better.

i havent played fear for the 360, but if it is the same, or really close to the pc version get cod3 for sure!

If you loved COD 2, 3 is more of the same in the single player with better multi player. Fear is great also. I would just get both.

I've played neither. That being said, my gut feeling says that FEAR will drop in price rather quickly while COD3 most likely won't. So if you think you will want both eventually, I'd say get COD3 now and FEAR when it drops.

I expect FEAR to be available somewhere for $30 sometime in January at the latest.

That's what my gut feeling says also... I was in the middle of typing that up when I saw your post ;)

F.E.A.R really got lost in the shuffle and I think it'll dive in price.

Are you sure that B2G1 isn't on USED titles on black friday? You're banking a lot on them having F.E.A.R. or CoD3 used, plus GoW used as well.

That being said, get CoD3. I picked it up today and it's phenominal. It's one of the best looking games I've seen in a while, and the multiplayer is fantastic.

I can't guarantee that they'll have it it, but most of the time, those games get traded in early. We get trades of the games the day after they come out, and at the latest, a week or 2 later. Especially with Rainbow Six Vegas coming out, someone is going to trade it in.

fear dude, please? Do you really want to waste your money on yet ANOTHER WWII game jeez. fear on pc is alot scarier though, I couldn't stop playing the single player and beat it in just 2 sittings. Just a heads up.

I've only played COD 3 online and it is really a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to playing FEAR in the future.

but cod is so boring! please! I can't believe I bought the second one for ps2 what a waste of money. The single player was just terrible and lame I had to put it down.

I was unimpressed by the first 2, and the simple fact that I hate almost all WWII games, aside from dod 1.6 for pc.

Ignore the FEAR demo on Live, it's rubbish and the final game is much better.

I heard that demo was taken from a pre-E3 build of the game, I hated the demo but really like the full game.

You also have to take into account how much you're going to be playing on Live... I imagine a ton of people are playing Call of Duty 3 while I've never really seen anyone playing alot of F.E.A.R in their gamertags, so I imagine it must not be too terribly popular online.

There are actually a good number of people playing this on live. You really get some awesome firefights going. And it is really challenging. Once again skip the WWII shooter this time around, and get F.E.A.R. Or get both. I am picking up COD3 sometime this week. Although I shouldn't seeing as I now have 4 games that I can't decide to play.

FEAR doesnt need to be terribly popular, ive never had trouble finding a game. Also dont forget hes getting GoW so he wont be SoL on live regardless.

I was thinking that when I looked over the BF Ads today but we will see if I end up getting to BB early enough to be able to get COD 2 for that price.

Splinter Cell: Double Agent use to be one of my choices but I am trying to play some different games because I have played every Splinter Cell up to that one.

yeah i would definetly say don't get NFS: Carbon it is way to short of a game. I let my friend play it and he beat it in like 7 hours. And it is really easy cause he went through more than half the game with the same car.

GoW- your getting

SC: DA is actually an amazing game however more so for single player

F.E.A.R.- definetly my choice out of the two, however i am also getting COD3

i actually would say screw getting 99 Nights cause it is the same as Dynasty Warriors and if your gf likes those kind of games and doesn't care about graphics so much just get DW5. It is a hell of a lot cheaper and not much change in graphics

Can anyone else confirm that the final game and the demo are indeed different. I was looking forward to FEAR but the demo really sucked. Graphics weren't that impressible and the framerate was horrible.

I asked her if she wanted Dynasty Warriors 5 but she said that she would rather play 99 Nights so that isn't even a question. I am trying to leave SC: DA alone at the moment because I know that is more toward single player and trying to get a couple of games I can play with on Live.
