I suggest we make this more organized in that we need to actually schedule deadlines every week and matches to be played every week. Our best bet to contact each team is to have a specific IRC channel (gamesurge preferrably) and have an assigned leader and scheduler from each specific team to idle in the chatroom.

Scheduling Rules:
The team's leader or scheduler needs to get in touch with the team leader or scheduler of the team they are going up against. Schedulers and leaders please have a contact list of your players (AIM // MSN // Yahoo) in order to discuss what time they can play. Discuss and reach an agreement between two teams is important.

Match Rules:
Matches can be played anyday until Thursday night which is the deadline for reporting Wins//Losses. If the two teams cannot conclude an agreement, they are designated to play at a default time. Preferred schedule is as follows:

1. Wednesday - 9:30 Pm EST is scheduled default match.
2. Sunday - 9:30 Pm EST is the deadline to schedule a match.
3. Matches Have to be reported by Thursday 9:30 Pm EST.


Declaring Wins // Losses:
If your team doesnt show up on Wednesday (if an agreement cannot be set) then the team with the complete team wins by default. There is a 15 minute leeway just in case the other team is having difficulties getting online. Report your matches either here at CAG forums or directly In the IRC channel if i can convince Machshot to idle there. Winning team's leader is responsible for reporting the win.

Hopefully with some structure we can make this tournament a big success.

I think you are having portforwarding issues. Check Gears of War forums in multiplayer at Epic's website. They have a sticky there fixing the problem. Hope that helps you out man.

SOunds like a good idea. Not just for this tournament, but Gears of War matchmaking in general. Uh, there's one problem koop, what's gamesurge? And I don't really like IRC but I've used it in high school during the chatting heydays :p and I know how it works. I'll do more research on gamesurge and maybe dl the program later. Gamesurge is just the server that the channel is going to be on. Most online gaming tournaments, leagues etc are usually on that server. I believe it is also one of the biggest servers beside rizon (although rizon is primarily a distro for anime server). Ill help maintain the channel and be a mod as well as register the channel for cag if you guys think this organization will help make the tourney a success.

Yes. Create a separate profile, call it "Friend" on your 360 then have the 2nd player sign in using that profile.

Just have the three team play each other, and which ever team ends up goin 2-0 wins the whole thing. Or advances to play the winner of the loser's bracket, however you have it set up. Having a by would be really lame.
And in the odd occurence that all 3 teams end up 1-1 (Unlikely since you know...Revolution is gonna run the table), just redo it over again until one team comes out 2-0 and the others are 1-1 and 2-0

Bye's happen, but you usually see them in the first round. I don't really care that much since this is pretty much just for fun, but it is kinda ridiculous to have a team skip all the way to the semi's after 2 wins (or even 1, as it would be in our case since the other team forfeitted first round).

Thank you. I was waiting for someone to say this. Like I said, luck is part of the draw. You think this is bad? Watch some wrestling tournaments. You'll witness some guys who have to wrestle 4-5 matches while others with a bye get to wrestle only 2-3 matches - I've seen guys puke from exhaustion but get right back on the mat! You just gotta deal with what comes your way. Well...at least that's what the people with a winning spirit do.
